2021 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The scenario I think most likely is also gonna be the most fascinating.

I think Baylor wins and Alabama loses by a significant margin.

At that point, who is in?

Baylor, Notre Dame, or Alabama?

I would think Notre Dame or Baylor but not Alabama. Probably Notre Dame.

The committee has already signaled that they may hold Kelly leaving against ND. A blowout loss would hurt Bama. The committee doesn’t like those. That might be apath for Baylor to get in there.

I don't think I believe it but some smoke on an OU board with "insiders" about Dabo going to OU. It was there before the Clemson AD left for Miami now it's picked up over the last 12 hours or so.

I don't think the insiders there actually know much, but I've only been on that board for the week so I can't make an honest assessment. Initially I assumed it was about getting clicks

Baylor winning this game would, imo, slightly open the door for a world where a very tight, last second Cincy loss still ends up with them making it in.

Would depend on some other stuff though.

I don’t see Cincinnati making it with a loss.

Alabama gets beaten tonight by 3 touchdowns.

Who is in? Georgia, Baylor, Michigan.

Gonna put Notre Dame ahead of Cincy? Gonna jump Utah up umpteen spots?

Utah lost 3 times. I don’t think there is an path for them. The committee has little respect for the UC schedule. I think they would put a one loss ND ahead of them even with the head to head as neither team would have a conference championship. Cincinnati needs to win today.

I actually think ND is the least likely.

I think there's no path for them to get in w/o Cincinnati making it.

They lost by double digits, at home.

In your scenario, I just don’t see any other options beside ND and Cincinnati. Ole Miss and OH St seem out to me. If Ok state loses they are out. Bama getting romped eliminates them. The committee may argue ND has a stronger schedule and has been blowing teams out the last six weeks. That will likely outweigh the head to head. Personally, I think UC beats Houston and renders this moot.
