2021 MLB Draft / College Baseball Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hunter Stanley:

Ate up innings and struck guys out. He was the ace for his team. Lacks leverage because of age and fifth-year senior status, but owns a track record of success and impressive control.

Whoa.. an OF'er !.. Conner Kokx <==== is this an eye chart name?.. never heard of this guy before..

Perfect Game says: Best Player on the Field: Connor Kokx. After medical redshirting his freshman year, this season is Kokx’s first real crack at starting for the Dirtbags and he’s immediately filled big shoes as the three-hole hitter in the lineup. He’s got the strongest barrel control out of all Dirtbag hitters, and most importantly, he provides a hard-nosed competitive at-bat every time he steps to the plate. His plate discipline and overall approach will continue to refine with every start he makes. He’s hitting .500 with four doubles and five RBI through 10 games so far this season

The one video I could find says his bat has potential and hes athletic, but I dont think hes got a good arm... but I could be wrong...

There's a first for everything...

:chuckle:

I've got nothing on Kokx's defense.. but his offensive exploits litter (or so seems) every game the Dirtbags play.. power and average. His Baseball-Ref page shows he hits..

Certainly would be the first ever major league player with the consecutive letters of k and x in his name.

Time for the Indians to draft a catcher.. or it feels like it..

edit: maybe not...

Davis Sharpe may become the Indians best two way player.. if he matures/develops.. Coming from the big time baseball program that is Clemson says a lot.. The Indians drafted him as a pitcher.. IDK if that's his best role?..We'll see..

5th year seniors are roster filler and where a club saves money for the big signings.

Are we going to use our last pick on like Taylor or something? lol

At this point, I hope they just keep taking pitchers they like, and max out the strategy!

Not this one.

It's odd they didn't select him yesterday to save money, but his numbers are amazing and the stuff is pretty good too. He's Sandlin 2.0, same school and all. Plus control, 90-95, two above avg secondaries

My guess is they spread their left over money around to Kokx, Denholm and maybe Sharpe and Thornton too.

That, or they will go big in one of the last rounds
