NFL Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No hints.

I don't have faith in the success of that Jets organization. If things fall apart, coaches will get fired.

I think Saleh and Ulbrich are fantastic coaches. Saleh can be one of the best DC's in the NFL, and Ulbrich is the best linebacker coach in the league. Two to three years out, when things fall apart in New York, they are guys to keep an eye out for.

Especially if we win a Super Bowl with Joe Woods as DC and he gets a HC opportunity somewhere. One thing that's not being talked about enough as far as The Browns being good now is losing coaches. We talk a lot about losing players because of the inability to pay for all of the talent but those coaches will get some opportunities.

I could definitely see a similar scenario playing out here like what's going on with The Rams now. I think McVay has lost like 9 coaches since they went to The Super Bowl. Teams around the league will definitely look to purge our staff if we keep it up.

On the bright side, I don't think Van Pelt is going to be up for a head coaching job anytime in the next couple years, as Stefanski will get most of the credit for the offense. I think that time has passed Callahan by as well.

Woods is probably the only guy, and it's likely he's not here in three years. Either he performs great, and gets a HC job, or he performs poorly, and we're looking to move on from him.

Only coach that isnt replaceable is Callahan imo. Stefanski is our OC pretty much, and there are other good DC out there. Woods hasnt shown anything yet, but he hasnt been given anything to work with yet either.

If things don't work out for them when they strike out on their own (i.e. almost all Belicheat diaspora,) you may expect they come crawling back, settling at their level of competence (i.e. Josh McDaniels at a high level, Rocket Scientist as basically a waterboy.)

Julio to the Titans

AFC is a hell of a conference at this point, this season is going to be so fun.

The Titans offense is pretty damn scary but that defense isn't getting them anywhere.

If that’s all it took to get Julio we should’ve made that deal.

Especially since Chubb and OBJ kissed significant time last season.

I don’t think we should be complacent about our current skill players when there’s some upgrades that could be had for low risk.

Julio Jones is absolutely worth a 2nd and a 4th for what he would do for this team. Imagine running Jarvis Landry out of the slot all game and that being the best case scenario for the opposing defense lololololololol.

Julio would’ve made us damn near unguardable.

We'd be investing way too much money at the WR position if we traded for Julio regardless of the cost. I'd rather have the rollover cap next year.

Would we really be investing too much? It’s not like there’s a guarantee of OBJ and Landry will be here behind this season.

Rollover cap is nice but I’d rather have the players right now and win right now. We can address the cap and contracts when it’s time. Right now we should be trying to win. Win right now.

We are trying to win. Adding another WR when we've already got one of the best WR depth charts in the league would be bad management and chasing the name on the back of the jersey. Julio Jones is 32 years old and clearly on the downswing of his career. He also can't stay healthy. If this was five years ago, sure, but in 2021? Hard pass from me.

Julio to the Titans makes sense. They have a big need at WR and a lot of vacated targets with Davis and Smith leaving and really no one taking their place. Julio to the Browns makes absolutely zero sense. We're spending enough on WR as it is and we have the opposite of vacated targets with Odell coming back and likely assuming somewhere between a 15 and 25% target share.

It's crazy stacked. If Rodgers ends up getting traded to an AFC team, the playoffs are going to be insane. Not to mention Watson, if he's cleared and ends up with a competent AFC franchise...whew

If Watson gets traded no way Houston keeps him in the AFC
