Two of three in the series would be just fine by me.

Undefeated starts today!

32 degrees at first pitch, with a chance of flurries.

As Joe Tait would say...

Its a beautiful day for baseball!

MLB needs to stop putting these games in the Midwest at this timeframe because of snow... every freaking year.
Baltimore at Boston has already been postponed. How hard would it have been to make it Boston at Baltimore?

They also have Houston at Oakland. Why not have Detroit at Oakland and Cleveland at Houston and have Houston play Oakland later in the season?

I don't understand why they schedule home openers in cities like Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Detroit.

Because baseball takes forever to make progress. I loved Target Field, but shocked we haven't made certain cities have retractable roofs.

Is SportsTime Ohio still a thing? I'm guilty of not turning that channel on in awhile but just went to set the DVR for the game and DirecTV shows it as Bally sports network or something to that extent.

Edit: Nvm, google search answered this. Guess it just took place yesterday. Affects FS Ohio too.

Well, the centerfield battle between Mercado, Johnson, and Zimmer morphed into ARosa moving from short. The opening day centerfielder is....

Luplow.

The first base battle between Bauers and Bradley has given us an opening day winner of...

Chang

Gotta love when a plan comes together.

Luplow CF
Hernandez 2B
Jose 3B
ERosa LF
Franmil DH
Naylor RF
Chang 1B
Berto C
Gimenez SS

Last year Boyd was 3-7, 6.71 versus 8-1, 1.63 for Bieber.

Against the Indians Boyd was 0-2 with a 6.10 ERA in two starts. Against the Tigers Bieber was 2-0, 1.84 in two starts.

However, Boyd looked much better this spring with a 2.45 ERA in 18 innings. He's a 30-year-old lefty with a career ERA of 5.08. Right-handed batters hit .304/.984 off him last year. Lefties had a .423 OPS - a difference of 561 points! If I were Tito I'd start Luplow in center and Chang at 1st, too.

This guy should be a reliever who comes in against lefties but on the Tigers he's their Opening Day starter. It must suck to be a Tiger fan.
