The definition of desperation and lack of offensive options.

Too many mental errors last night, both in our defense and on the base-paths. This team has shown some flashes of competence on the defensive side but all too often the wheels fall completely off. Last night was an example of our team as a whole being really stupid and incompetent defensively, so when the pitchers mad a mistake it cost us more than it would if we just played solid and consistent defense.

Maybe we've over-achieved to this point and now we're coming back to earth? I hope not.

We are over achieving when it comes to basic numbers on the offensive side plus the fact we aren't getting distance from the 4th and 5th starters to be honest... Now that being stated, we have a ton of natural talent still trying to grow so we will have to lick some wounds now and again though, but I personally thought this team was better than the national media thought. We are missing at least two pieces in my mind (now more if Reyes is out) to get over the hump. We need a veteran SP and another legit middle of the order bat. We have the trade assets to get them so the question is are we gonna go for a playoff run this season or wait until next year?
