2022-2023 NBA Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is the BASKETBALL GODS punishing a SPORTS COWARD who leaves his loaded teams for a recent Finals team every time things get the slightest bit difficult. I hope they CONTINUE and Durant never wins a title again
Seems like he’s injured every year except the years we played him in the finals

He was moderately healthy during those years likely due to less workload. But you are correct, he hasn't played in 75+ games since 2013 with the exception being in 2018 where he got hurt in the playoffs.

He reminds me of Kyrie, who has been injured almost every year of his career. Not someone I would build my team around.

The NBA announced additional technology will help with games – including those of the Cavs – in the 2023-24 season.

A tracking system from Hawk-Eye Innovations will be utilized to help officiate games, according to an NBA press release.

The 3-D optical tracking tech, developed by Sony, will be able to capture player movement and the ball, providing a chance to improve the accuracy of calls on the court.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sony’s sports businesses to leverage Hawk-Eye’s cutting-edge 3D optical tracking data,” said Evan Wasch, executive vice president of basketball strategy and analytics for the NBA said. “This data will enhance our officiating, power significant insights for our teams, and create a dynamic data set that will improve our game and enable unique engagement opportunities for NBA fans.”

It's also possible that it will open debate regarding taking the human element out of the game as have instant replay rules enacted in sports leagues in recent years.

More than anything, however, it’s the game evolving to take advantage of available tech. What matters most: that it works properly.

After the Mavericks’ 113-106 loss to the Pelicans on Wednesday, the Dallas guard went off on fans and the media in a Twitch rant that referenced his breakups with the Cavaliers, Celtics and Nets.

Irving, who was traded from the Nets to the Mavericks last month, called out those that believe they know the real him after watching him play basketball.

“You see me for three hours and you think you know who I am. You see a few posts: ‘Oh Ky is woke, Ky got it, oh, Ky is, oh my goodness. He just doesn’t fit into the mold of all the people. He’s different, he’s crazy, he’s arrogant, he’s this, he’s that.’

“All from seeing me for three hours. You get all that.

“‘What’s Ky gonna do this summer? Does Ky like Dallas? What happened in Brooklyn? What happened in Boston? What happened in Cleveland? Why did you leave LeBron [James]? Why did you leave Jayson [Tatum]? Why did you leave KD [Kevin Durant]? Why did you leave all these people?’

“It's 15 guys on the team and I'm the one cancer in the room. That's what it's portrayed as…these older, bitter gentlemen and women keep my name in their mouths every day”

– Kyrie Irving

Three teams are tied for best road records this season, 20-12.

Bucks
Celtics

Knicks!

I HATE this kind of shit. You see these stat lines like somebody is 6-17 shooting with 35 points and you see they got 20+ free throws. That should never happen. Just imagine how unpleasant it is to watch a guy missing shot after shot and getting a one man foul line parade for it. Just erases all the beauty of basketball
But not your beauty. I see it and I’m in love with you.

Very suspicious. What are the chances? Very slim, according to experts.
Excellent ! My Curry/Thompson/Poole + 20 points just ticked up a notch..

Knicks on a 7-0 run to close the gap ; Mike Brown has the Kings playing great basketball and has to be the odds-on favorite to win Coach of the Year; and for those of you who thought the Kings dealing of Halliburton was an idiotic move, well it’s one of those trades that helped both teams , but Sabonis has helped turn Sacramento from pretenders to contenders in his first season.
