2022 American League Central Division Champions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Let me preface this by saying that ultimately this is mental masturbation by me. I know Naylor is going to be in the lineup and worse yet, in the middle of the lineup.

I get all the stuff about Naylor being the heart and soul of the team and all that too, and I wouldn’t even say I necessarily disagree with that.

But facts are facts and Josh is pretty much an automatic out against LHP.

I understand that they’re not going to take him out for a variety of reasons, I just very much disagree with the mentality.

Especially when a guy like Brennan who actually is swinging a red hot bat at the moment is possibly going to be sat with the rationale from Tito almost certainly being “oh well it would have been unfair for us to stick him in there against a guy like McClanahan” and blatantly ignoring that is also the case for Naylor.

But it is what it is. I hope the all the splits get taken to small sample size hell this weekend.

Naylor could be moved down the lineup, but I am not against him pinch hitting if they have a tough lefty starter... I mean, no offense to Hedges or Maile, but they don't hit all that well, so put in a right handed reliever, we can always do some switching around... Aka Naylor comes in for the C and then the other C comes in for Miller...

Though being the first game of the playoff series, Naylor is playing...

Cmon, that throw to 3rd was a little off but Jose makes that play 9 out of 10 times.
5 errors in 47 chances on the field this year. No bueno. It's fine, he's a rookie, but I don't want him out there.

Anyone that thinks Naylor want be in the lineup against potentially TB lefty have to think what is the alternative…….Wouldn’t surprise me if Brennan is also in the lineup.

Do you feel there is more value in analyzing these 47 chances than the thousands of other chances he's had in his professional career?

How strange is that?..

The Mets' Francisco Alvarez and Guardians' Bo Naylor, both catchers.. both brought up for a cup of coffee with the hope they'd be able to help the parent club...

have each played in 3 games..
have ecah had 8 at bats..
have not been able to get their first base hit i.e. both 0-8...

Perhaps today?.. In the last AB by Bo last evening, he stung a line drive to the Royals CF'er...

Yeah I mean the alternatives are Miller and Arias. Miller's a butcher at 1B and Arias has literally one game of experience at the MLB level at 1st base.

On the hitting front at least, granted it's a tiny sample size, but Arias does have 6 hits and 6 walks in 33 PAs since being recalled on 9/25. Still striking out a lot though.

Any playoff hats available at Lids stores? Kind of want to get one before I go to Fridays game.

FYI, there are still quite a lot of tickets left for Game 1 on Friday. If you go on the team's site to purchase tickets for Game 1, you'll see that there are PLENTY of tickets available in sections 528-541 above the first base line in addition to in sections 561-577 above the third base line.

Just absolutely embarrassing for a fanbase that claims to be a "proud sports town." And, yes, I bought my ticket for Game 1 last week, and I have attended 13 regular season games in 2022.

Who cares. They will sell out especially if they keep winning in the post season.

My brother and our buddy thought they missed out on getting tickets for a Friday. I found out shit hasn’t sold out yet and told them. At least I got 2 more there.

Think it's more of an unknown time issue. People have working lives. I won't shit on fans for that.

It would be one thing if the ballpark was getting good crowds during the regular season during weeknights when most people are off work, but they can barely draw 10,000 on a weeknight. I'm not in any rush to give the fanbase the benefit of the doubt when it comes to supporting this team.
