2022 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Smith-Njigba checked out months ago. This isn't a surprise. I'm curious though how many other top programs have guys opt out of their junior seasons to prepare for the draft? I'm sure it happens, but I never hear about it at Alabama or Georgia.

Lol. I'm assuming shitposting is your forte in this section of the board?

JSN tried to come back twice during the season and re-injured himself. The statement clearly says that he's continuing to rehabilitate. His doctors told him he'd be unable to participate in the CFP:

"I want to be out there competing with my brothers more than anything," Smith-Njigba told ESPN on Monday.

So, yeah, checked out, opted out, neither of which are true. But you keep on keepin on.

I'm guessing they'll probably promote Hartline to OC and hire a TE coach. Might be a way to get some fresh ideas into the offensive play calling maybe...

Ohio State has been looking to promote Keenan Bailey at some point. He's considered a rising star in the coaching industry. Wouldn't be surprised if this serves as the impetus for bumping him up.

Saw rumors about Bailey getting promoted to TE coach and Hartline promoted to OC, possibly with some playcalling responsibilities

Robinson being fired solidified Vrabel as the Titans HC for the long term. He'll likely be picking the GM.

Agree Day isn't going anywhere. The OC pick should be interesting-- the rumor is it's gonna be Justin Frye. Call me crazy but I think someone like Scott Frost should be brought in to be co-OC for a fresh perspective without completely losing the offensive identity.

Oh, and Day should give up playcalling

Yep, Day is here for at least a few more years unless he goes to the NFL. Even if he trends downward (wont get into a debate about whether or not getting blasted by Michigan back to back yet still winning 10-11 games counts as trending downward), he will still be around for a bit.

After seeing the Buckeyes likely going to go 0-for-3 on their big DL targets (Wilson, Uiagalelei and Keeley), have to wonder about Larry Johnson and his impending status on the staff. I know every year we go througg this retirement thing, maybe finally coming to fruition?

A few? So if they get absolutely mauled by Michigan two more years in a row, you think he's staying through that?

I think they're one more MIchigan blowout in a row from him going into an official hot seat year.
