I'd be terrified to see what the Pirates want for 4.5 years of Bednar

He's been great but that seems like a very costly and risky acquisition that I'd prefer to stay away from.

If I said a Miller trade, that would be close in a sense...

They need more pitching, so I'd bet Arias plus like Allen, Burns and Mace type of deal... at the bare minimum

I’m cool with it disrupting our division foe, but is that going to put him on the shit list with MLB teams now?

It’s hard to argue the time and family sacrifices that differ between a college job and Major League Baseball.

LSU threw a nice chunk of change at him to come home, travel mostly on weekends during the spring.

Huge change of work/life balance.

Anyone have the Over/under on Sandy Leon catcher's interference calls today?

So far the Guardians are 31-7 when they get two hits or more with RISP and 5-26 when they get 0 or 1 hit with RISP.
So when they score multiple runs (two or more hits that drive in a run) they win, but when they dont score runs (0 hits where a runner scores) they don't win? This is a shocking development.

How the Gin Rummy games start with Tito, Shaw and Leon...

How they usually end...

kind of a circular stat
I think this stat is more extreme for the G's than for most teams, although I don't have the numbers. What it's saying is that our pitching has been good enough that generally getting just two hits with RISP in a game generates enough runs to win.

It's also saying we don't hit enough solo home runs or drive in runners from first base with home runs or doubles to win games where we don't get hits with RISP.

This team is heavily dependent on good pitching, great defense, getting singles with runners in scoring position, and sacrifice flies. So far they rank at or near the top of baseball in batting average with RISP, yet they are only three games over .500. If that average drops off it's going to be very tough to win games.

In order to be more than just an average team they need to be able to score runs in bunches. When was the last time we saw a three-run homer?
