Agree 100% -- thought Civale was an excellent candidate for a but low extension....still do. He is at the least a very serviceable starting pitcher, with still some "#3" type potential. Can he dodge the injury bug moving forward? There would be the risk, but if the price is right...
I wonder if finger and wrist injuries tend to repeat themselves. I don't really hear of that being an issue in general so I'd guess maybe not?

He did increase his curveball usage... so I think some of it is an increased usage of something he isnt used to pitching as much...

How many think the G’s win a division with Plesac and Civale winning 7 total games?

Plesac had some legitimately bad luck...

Though it would have been hard to project us winning with those guys hurt/not performing well...

I think the right time... in my mind, they are battle tested, but also going to be sharp and as well rested as anyone going into the playoffs.
agree... its not like they won against all bad teams. this run was against twins, sox and rays

21-4 is a special thing, peaking too early or just in time to get hotttt?
They’re playing a lot of close games as part of it - I would have been concerned if they’re started getting blown out after clinching. But they’re still playing and winning said tight games. Good for preparing for the playoff environment.

Gimenez, yes.

Kwan and Gonzalez, no.

If Kwan is top 10 in the majors in OBP, bats .300 and is Gold Globe outfielder again next year we wouldn’t give him an extension?

Seems he should be our leadoff guy for the next five years no?

He will be the lead off man..

As far as signing him to an extension.. the comment wasn't No Extension Ever.. it's after his sophomore year.. dontcha think?

Next year, yeah I'm sure they approach him even if he has a slightly worse season.

But this winter/spring, when they still control him for 6 more seasons until he is 31 and he's making the minimum (or close to it) for 2 more seasons, no way. Spend that money elsewhere this winter/spring.

Not taking a position on extensions, but he's pretty much our leadoff guy for the next 5 years anyway, no? He doesn't hit free agency until 2028.

So the Cavaliers are paying for Bally Sports + service to full and half season ticket holders so they can stay engaged in the games.
It would be nice if the G's do that for their ticket holders next year. Hint, hint.
