2022 Minor League Week 10 Games Thread (6/7-6/12/22)

Columbus lost in bottom of the 9th. Tied, Indianapolis had a runner on third (Oliva) with two outs. Krauth missed with a 2-2 pitch and Lavastida “lobbed his return throw to the mound” (quoting from the Indianapolis site) and Oliva broke for home, beating Krauth’s throw back to home. Live and learn…

Well the night is over for the CLE full season affiliates and it was another rough one. The group went 1-3 with a run diff of +4 on the night (a blowout win by Akron & 3 1-run loses by the rest).
On the week the full season group is now 6-11 with a run diff of -+2.
Now onto the Saturday contests...

I saw a tweet from GBI suggesting RHP Luis Oviedo would be the person to backup Burns in AA today.

Same tweet has RHP Tommy Ventimiliga to be the backup to Ryan Webb in the ACL today...

Watched few innings of Myers .... supposedly per prospect reports, he sits 90-96. I saw 90-91 with a few 92 and 93.

Also, been wondering about Battenfield as reports says he tops 97. Saw him sit around 92-93 with few 94 and some 90-91 too but nothing at 95....

Wonder if speed plays up if they only plan 1-2 innings

Last season I'd guess Myers hit 93 more than anything else. Lots of strikeouts as well. Did Myers being on the 40 man hold him back a bit like it did all the others?

Battenfield sat at 93-95 with a ton of K's as well. I remember Bimbo stating that he hit 98 earlier this season, but I haven't had the chance to see him pitch yet. The first opportunity I have to drive to Columbus to watch him pitch I will do so.

Doing a little checking this is the 1st outright losing week since week 5.
All in all that is a good run. Time to start a new positive results streak...

Well the Sunday games are now over for the CLE affiliates and it was a great day.
The group went 4-0 with a run diff of +16.

On the week the teams went a combined 11-14 with a +10 run diff.. See everyone with the next thread...

Don’t just read box scores for rehabbing players people.

1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K isn’t necessarily “struggling”.

Touching 99 and flashing his plus plus curve for yet another outing is more important than the results right now.
