2022 Minor League Week 12 Games Thread (6/21-6/26/22)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well the Sunday games are now over. The CLE full season group went 1-3 with a run diff of -6 on the day. Only Lynchburg won today.
On the week the full season group went 15-10 with a run diff of +47.

With the 1st half of the season now completed for AA, High-A and Low-A, there has been speculation that a variety of roster moves will take place.
It will be interesting to see what the CLE FO & player development group decides to do. As Tony Lastoria drilled into my head years ago: "a player isn't getting promoted to sit on the bench a majority of the time at the next level. They are promoted to play."

I encourage everyone to take moment. Take a few deep breathes. And patiently wait to see what happens.

It's the first time I've ever seen myself in the crowd on a highlight!
Are you just above the letter K in the word PARK in the front row ?……..:chuckle::chuckle:

The sound of his bat when he made contact: high-pitched and percussive. TNK.

It was almost metallic.

Next season Benson is your left fielder unless they bring somebody else from outside the organization . Gonzales looks like he will be the RF unless his inability to draw walks becomes an issue as pitchers figure him out later this season like they did Mercado after his rookie year.

Next season, Benson isn't likely in Cleveland to be honest unless he decides to resign after the Rule 5 draft...

Benson is on pace for 20-25 homers, 25 stolen bases over 100 walks to balance out 130 KS with good defense and a good arm. He can play all three outfield positions. Why would a guy like this not be guaranteed a roster position or a chance to play over KWan who is a 4th outfielder?

They didn’t invest this much time and coin for Benson to be a rule V casualty

So the guy who is likely going to get 2nd or 3rd place in the ROY and maybe wins a gold glove in LF, his spot as a starter is going to be taken from while given to a guy without a single MLB AB? Plus we also have Brennan who happens to be producing at the same level if not higher than Kwan did last season also in the mix.

Benson is having a great season and I want to find him a way onto the 40 man roster, but remember he doesn't have a great history of production in the minors. Honestly, he has never produced this way at any level before, so they will have to ask themselves can he improve or is it a fluke?

They have to make a big trade to get Benson a spot. LF is Kwan's spot until someone is able to take it from him and how likely is a guy whose career SO rate in the minors is over 30% going to take away our leadoff hitters spot and make him our 4th OF? Is Straw back to leadoff? If not then who leads off Benson?

Also is OGonz keeps playing so well, where does Valera fit into all of this? Also if you select Benson, how can you leave off Call, who actually has put up similar numbers... (less power, but better contact rate and way lower SO rate).
