No, my general heuristic for modern day athletes is just assume they are doing everything for attention. Hasn’t failed me yet.

Well, it’s failed you now. I used to work with Aaron and still have several close connections to him. Was told prior to the Super Bowl he was very serious about it. It surprised me as I had never heard it before, but it made sense to me because he’s never had injury problems and has a lot he wants to accomplish off the field.

The source I heard it from would’ve 100% been privy to that info and had no reason to make it up. This person absolutely would’ve been in the handful of family and friends he told before it became public.
