2022 RCF NFL Mock Draft: ON THE CLOCK...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
With the 10th pick in the NFL Draft, the New York Jets select:

Drake London, WR, USC
1a4ef2c0-a942-11ec-96f7-b59c6fad277c

The Jets have had a nice start to free agency, filling voids at tight end (C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin), safety (Jordan Whitehead), cornerback (D.J. Reed) and guard (Laken Tomlinson). They haven't yet added an outside wide receiver to help Zach Wilson, though.

London, 6-foot-4, had 88 catches for 1,084 yards in eight games in 2021 before a broken right ankle ended his season. He can be a weapon in the red zone. With London and Corey Davis on the outside and Elijah Moore and Braxton Berrios working out of the slot, New York would have a young and talented receiving corps for Wilson's second season.

Jets picks:
#4- Ahmad Gardner CB
#10- Drake London WR

The Washington Commanders @PIP are on the clock!

I'm doing an emergency tag in pick for @PIP.

With the 11th pick in the mock draft, the Washington Commanders select:

kyle-hamilton.gif

Kyle Hamilton
Safety, Notre Dame
6'4, 221

From his NFL.com profile:

High-impact safety with unique blend of traits and characteristics that make him a bit of a unicorn at the position. Hamilton has the eyes and speed to play over the top, the strength and toughness to play near the line, and coverage length to guard elite pass-catching tight ends who often mismatch opposing defenses. It's rare to find such a ferocious striker and intimidator who has the football intelligence and athletic prowess to go make plays in the passing game, but Hamilton provides it all. He thrives playing downhill or sinking into a robber alignment on the back-end but will have occasional missteps in coverage when in retreat from his pedal. Hamilton has the traits and football character to transition from standout college moments to a standout pro career as a future Pro Bowler with All-Pro potential.

Reasoning:

While safety is definitely a need for the Commanders, it’s not glaring and Kyle Hamilton is someone whom most draft analysts perceive as a lock to go in the top five, let alone the top 10. Washington plays a mediocre weak-side linebacker Cole Holcomb way too many snaps. Hamilton will start in a three safety look, become an even better Jamin Davis, and support Kameron Curl at SS as well. If you like JOK, check out the 6'4 version.

Multiple sources including Thedraftnetwork.com consider him the best player in the draft, which is an incredible value outside of the top ten. Riverboat Ron gets to scheme a special and young defense.

@MGMT is on the clock.

Baltimore Ravens (#14th overall) fielding calls, looking to move down into the late teens or low 20s.

I notified MGMT in PM last night, but he hasn't logged in since. If he hasn't picked in four hours, he gets a GM selection.

Sorry, I really can’t check my phone much at my job but in the interest of keeping things moving:

With the 12th selection in the 2022 NFL draft the Minnesota Vikings select:

Derek Stingley Jr; CB — LSU

Will update asap

@JDailey23 is now on the clock

With the 13th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select:

Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

Overview:
Beefy, mountainous nose tackle with the size, power and will to clog the drain and alter the offense's desire to run between the tackles. Davis has anchor and quick-shed talent to eviscerate single blocks and successfully occupy double teams, allowing linebackers to thrive in pursuit of ball-carriers. He plays upright, lacking agility and reactive quickness to mark up a stat sheet with any consistency, but that's not what he's asked to do. Davis won't be as effective against outside-zone teams and won't offer much rush, but he could become one of the league's best run-pluggers as soon as he takes the field.
Strengths
  • Assignment-oriented player but still thrives.
  • Squares the block and tosses it aside when he's ready.
  • Flows through an edge when he finds his positioning.
  • Pure power to battle through wash-down blocks.
  • Can shed blocks and transition a gap over.
  • Has talent to do more than just neutralize double teams.
  • Hands are pinpoint accurate into the blocker's shoulders.
  • Plays with hand quickness to slap opponent's hands off of him.
  • Never on the ground.
  • Won't be blocked by a single block.
  • Has size to overwhelm certain opponents.
  • Potential to alter opponent's game plan.
Weaknesses
  • Occasional leverage issues due to his height.
  • Can be a little straight-legged into lateral engagement.
  • Below-average first-step quickness.
  • Lacks knee bend to roll downhill with bull rush.
  • Change of direction is not a thing for him.
  • Can't disengage and tackle suddenly.
  • Redirected due to lack of bend in his rush.
