2022 Season | Series #17 | Guardians @ Orioles | June 3-5, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can't believe I am saying this but.... This is pretty bad timing, running into the Orioles when they must be feeling pretty brave/optimistic/confident..

Agree with @CDAV45 this could end up being a very competitive/fun series. Grab the popcorn.

Should be a good series and I would not underestimate Baltimore's offense. Hopefully our starters continue to show improvement and pitch even better than they have been which is pretty damn good for the most part.
Not sure why anyone should underestimate any team on our schedule, yes we can pitch with anyone, but our hitting don’t put fear to any pitching staff…..I be glad to take 2 out of 3…

Very true. I guess I was just trying to suggest that the Orioles are on the verge of becoming a good baseball team. Yes, they’re missing some pieces, but they have some good pieces already. Sound familiar?

my family is going tomorrow so expect a loss. We havent seen an indians/guardians win in person in years. Including a 2019 (?) absolutely embarrassing beat down of like 11-2.

No joke, I’ve attended close to 20 Indians games and I don’t think I’ve seen them lose 3 games.

Granted, most were between 94-97. One of my first baseball memories was watching Steve Olin close one at old municipal stadium. I apparently watched Phil Niekro pitch a complete game when I was 3, but I don’t remember it.

They suck.

The games I’ve attended in Cleveland were 1970-1977 so I’m sure you know the baseball definition of “suck”:)

Well you aren't exactly going to be invited back since you are bad luck! Lol Jk

Joking aside the 90s and from 2016 to present we have legitimately been a solid team from top to bottom. If anything we have become a top 5 organization in baseball and near that in all US sports...

Lol.

Sarcasm is fun. I went from watching McCarver catching Gibson 67-69 to early 70’s Indians (at least Vada Pinson was familiar). In other words I’ve seen the Indians actually suck. There isn’t much to complain about since they left Municipal.

I’ve attended Indians games in Anaheim and NYC since the dark days of yore. Hopefully I’ll catch the Guardians in Cleveland before too long.

Old Muni Stadium. It smelled like Bourbon Street in NOLA, full of Piss and Puke.

But i have some very fond memories of Muni Stadium and going with my Grandpa. As far as Bourbon St? Been to 5 Mardi Gras, but my memories are a bit hazy for some reason, lol

LOL I never noticed that dinosaur Tim McCarver talking shit after Fernandez's homer because the Guardians had the gall to... celebrate it. And that Tony! How dare he clap his hands right out of the box... Thank God Tim McCarver's attitude is dead.
Wow…

Mercado is 3-for-23, all singles, in his last 8 games. He's at .198 for the season. Not anywhere near good enough for a corner outfielder. On top of that he's got a nasty reverse split, hitting .154/.400 against lefties. His OPS against right-handers is .759, nearly double what he's hitting off lefties. Kwan has better numbers against lefties; .250/.603.

When Reyes is ready to come off IR it won't surprise me if Oscar follows Chang to Pittsburgh or wherever.

Phil Niekro is my all-time favorite player. Grew up a Braves fan, then when he went to the Yankees I actually cheered for the Yankees when (and only when) Phil pitched. Once he landed with the Indians, Cleveland became my team. I saw him at the old stadium when he pitched the game that set the record for “most wins by brothers”. Beat Detroit.

Bieber did not face the O's last year or the year before. Only three of their starters tonight have ever faced him and they are a combined 1-for-14. I think this is to Bieber's advantage. By the way, in his last three starts he has allowed only four earned runs over 21 innings.
