2022 Season - Week #5 - Chargers @ Browns - 10/9 - 1 pm on CBS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As long as they stay in their own neighborhoods I guess...
I know this conversation doesn't belong in the Browns section, but this just isn't accurate.

If you want to pick an image of a homeless camp underneath an overpass and make a statement about an entire city, you better get out and fix the hell out of Cleveland, because we aren't coming out of that comp unscathed.

I only brought up the wealth thing because we're talking about well paid athletes here, and LA is one of the world's best playgrounds for them.

Los Angeles is an incredible city. It's already one of the most appealing cities on the planet, and if it weren't for the traffic it would be even better.

Seeing a fellow Clevelander calling another city a shithole just reflects poorly on our city and I hate to see it.

Let's be honest, it's usually after a jab is thrown from someone in LA. They instantly resort to slamming anything that's not Los Angeles. Their metro makes up 3% of the country but everywhere else is considered a dump. Even places like SD or SF. "LA is always better".

I've spent a considerable amount of time in Santa Monica and yes much of it is beautiful, there's definitely a charm, but the greater LA area for all of its resources is a dump. Skid Row is less than 2 miles from Crypto.com arena. The quality of life between people who walk through those doors & the people who actually live nearby has to be the largest gap in the world. If you have money, and a skillset that earns a high wage, many parts of LA can be a playground....but not the vast majority. Imagine how many of the biggest Laker fans ever were never able to see Magic or Kobe live?

50k is considered the poverty level last time I checked for a family of four out there. That can get by in a large portion of America. What sane person would want that? Who would want a $900k 1000 sq ft home that you'll likely never own?

Population declined a percent or two during the pandemic in LA bc people realized the trade off to live somewhere else was well worth it. SF saw 7% or 8% decline, and eventually LA will feel a similar crunch. Many times people in LA like to throw the carot out, "well you're only an X drive from the beach, an hr flight from Vegas, hiking....blah blah blah". Many parts of the country have some level of beauty or entertainment near by.

Let's not even talk about the fires, crime, inevitable rise in sea level.

I won't go out of my way to bash a place that anyone calls home, but let's not act like Clevelanders don't take an unnecessary amount of shit. People will always have some sort of pride for home. I don't blame anyone for sticking up for home and throwing jabs back.

I'll admit I haven't spent time in LA since the week after the Rodney King riots, other than to change planes at LAX. My second wife's family lived there and I haven't had reason to visit since divorcing her a long time ago.

My only impressions come from people I talk to who recently visited the city, whose opinions I generally trust, and none of those descriptions has been positive. So yeah my comment isn't based on anything other than that and maybe LA is a Mecca and I just haven't been able to experience it.

But conversely is it okay for the Chargers to throw shade on Cleveland? You seem to ignore what prompted my response.

pray for us ain't nothing wrong we just gotta go to ohio

These are precisely the kinds of reports I get from just about everyone I talk to about LA.

I think that’s big for us bc everyone from LA is soft and they don’t like bugs
