2022 Season - Week #6 - Patriots @ Browns - 10/16 - 1 pm on CBS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean, I know how bad the team looks and it's hard to see it getting better BUT........

Baltimore lost again today. 3-3 sits atop this division. So, right now, the Browns are very much still in it thanks to being in the worst division in football currently.
Agreed. The AFC North is CRAP. Which means the Browns still have a sliver of a chance.

The hope is SOMETHING happens on the defensive side of the ball for the rest of the season.

FWIW this is misleading.

Delpit was defending Henry 85 one on one and lost his footing and fell as Henry was making his break to the outside.

It wasn't a miscommunication coverage bust like it's being described by Trotter.
Regardless, Delpit is garbage and will be out of the league by 2025.

What is Trotter if not misleading?

He carefully left out Herbie among the QBs we've played, not to mention the rest of those rosters, the fact that most of those teams are not as bad as expected, and that Tua might not come back the same or that Brady lost to one of the worst teams in the league:

(Yes, count me in the contrarian "insane optimist here, we can get back on track, and we could've won if we got that onside kick" camp.)

Watson 2 years removed & this defense? C'mon guys . . .

They're going to be out of the race by the time Watson returns. The only thing left to really accomplish this season is Watson knocking off the rust and ultimately looking like himself once he returns to the field.

As long as that happens, everything is all good.

The problem is the team is quickly looking like the team he was surrounded around in Houston

If Watson was coming back this week, I'd agree they are still very much alive.

But with 5 more games of Brissett and this defense, they're probably going 1-4.

2-3 feels like it would be a minor miracle at this point.
Clowney and Ward make us a completely different D...

A star QB is quite the deodorant to a lot of stinky things.

The Browns can run and they can block. Two things Watson has never really had before. If he can knock the rust off pretty quickly, this offense should be extremely good.

Capable of overcoming a rotten defense? Probably not every game, but they'll have this offseason to overhaul that side of the ball, coaching and personnel.

Exactly. Kevin knows Brisket has limits and knows he can’t do certain things. Watson will completely change the outlook of our O.

Barring what happens here in garbage time, Jacoby Brissett officially has a worse QB rating through 6 games than Baker Mayfield had last season.

I think Stefanski is better at reining in a QB than trying to push a QB out of their comfort zone. I think they have push Brissett beyond what he is capable of while Stefanski was reining in Baker from being a gun slinger alot of the time. The difference is Stefanski could let off the reins with Baker at times if they were down to see if he could gun sling his way into a come back.

With Brissett, I think he is slightly outside of his comfort zone with Stefanski's offense but when they need him to shoulder the offense for comeback, he is really outside his comfort zone which he just makes bad decisions and throws.

I wonder if Stefanski will be more willing to push the offense to run up the score with Watson. He hasn't been that willing to do so in the past and it has open this team up to teams coming back on us. When we got up 2 scores Stefanski seems to go into not to lose mode and puts too much trust into our defense.

You have a point. Except for the fact that we suck.
