2023-24 Playoff Series #2 | Game #1 | Cavaliers @ Celtics | May 7, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just hate Boston so much, although the individual players they have are all likeable, outside of Horford (though I still respect his game).

DG cannot guard anyone in Boston's starting lineup, so, that's a problem.

With Porzingis out, if we were healthy, I'd like our chances. If Allen and Wade could go at 50-75% for Game 1, then I'd just wait until Game 2 or 3 to have them closer to 100%. If Allen is not risking further injury but just hampered with the rib, he really needs to come back soon in a reduced role. Cuz right now if Mobley gets in foul trouble we're fucked.

He should be able to guard 33 year old Jrue Holiday, no? Dude isn't exactly a scoring machine.

I have think Wade is out until next season and they just haven't admitted it yet. As for Allen I don't see how he can be at "50%." Either his injury is going to recur when he inevitably gets hit there again or it won't. I don't see how he can play an NBA playoff game while trying to protect his injured rib(s). Can't avoid contact underneath the basket and he's no use unless he's underneath the basket.

The Celtics' game is to whip the ball around until somebody has an open 3. It often starts with Tatum or Brown beating their man off the dribble. I would advise the Cavs to let him have the layup rather than abandon a shooter on the perimeter to contest the layup. Better to give up two points than three.

The Cavs have to stay on their shooters. If they get hypnotized by the ball their man will reposition for a wide open 3.

I'm hoping either Allen or Wade or both can play by the time the series returns to Cleveland.

I’m hoping that the Orlando series win has taken the pressure off our guys and they’ll be more confident tonight. Specifically hoping those threes start scoring. Bang Bang is way overdue and we need his scoring and attitude. I want Ice to get at least a couple threes under his belt.

Regular season experience isn’t worth much now. You have to prove it in the playoffs. Knock down some threes early and that will boost confidence.

I get the feeling if we can just get started hitting threes it will be contagious.

The Celtics won 16 Championships in the first 36 years of the NBA. Since Brad Daugherty, Ron Harper, Hot Rod Williams and Mark Price started playing their first season in the fall of 1986 the Celtics have won ONE Championship in 36 years - same as us. The natives are restless and anything less than a ring this year will be a crushing disappointment. They’re under pressure.
