2023-24 Playoff Series #2 | Game #2 | Cavs @ Celtics | May 9, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Two differences I saw were that the Cavs pushed the ball fast on offense which didn't let the Celtics set their defense. We got a lot of quick baskets. Also, we clearly made an effort to push them off the 3-point line and make them move to shoot. They are more veteran and skilled than us but they're small underneath and older. We have to take advantage of that.
I've been impressed with LeVert's ability to push the ball up the court and attack with each possession. He's been great off the bench the last two games.

I didn't say this during the game last night because I didn't want to jinx it, but I have been thoroughly unimpressed with Jayson Tatum these last couple games.

He seems like a totally soft "star", who gets most of his points through illegal push-offs and at the foul line. His stats still look decent, but they seem like totally empty numbers. He's a good 3pt shooter, but we've been able to defend him well there too. He would be further screwed if refs didn't blow the whistle just for breathing on him.

An All-NBA guy like him shouldn't be able to be shut down so easily and consistently, but he is.
I've seen him have some amazing games where he is unstoppable. He can score at all three levels, hit contested 3's, power to the rim with either hand, and hit mid-range fallaways. He's just a very strong, skilled, and athletic scorer, a lot like Banchero.

And yes, the refs allow him to push off all he wants and when he throws a shoulder into a defender that is shadowing him he always get the foul call. Look at all the free throws he got in Game 2.

He can still take over this series. I wouldn't call him soft just yet.

I want strus to just flop like a prime Marcus smart on one of these elbows. See how that looks

Dean Wade might think this, but does Dean Wade's Knee know this?

You can tell from the few practice videos he is delaying surgery to give this team everything, but man I just dont know if he can go. I hope I am 100% wrong. A healthy Dean changes everything. Stick him as your starting PF next to Mobley and the switchability of that defense would be a big smack in the face to any changes Boston thinks there going to make.
