Started during Covid as a way to decrease air travel and make it easier to make up any games that were needed due to outbreaks. They seem to have kept it the last few years.
Well Covid is still here so a good policy then

Mitchell needs to get his shit together and stop being a black hole on offense. This team can take another step but I feel Mitchell is not willing to take it

In five games since returning from being out nine days with a hamstring injury Mitchell is shooting just 36.4% overall. He's 8-for-36 on 3's, or 22.2%. He's been awful, to be honest.

Before the injury he was shooting 48.6% overall and 39.3% on 3's. His shooting percentages have cratered since returning from injury. I wonder if he's 100% or if there are lingering effects.

At any rate, he has three days off to work on his shot and get rested up. Hopefully we'll see the pre-injury Donovan Mitchell starting Wednesday against Orlando.

Hoops Hype Power Rankings: Cavs #18. Just behind the Nets.
Probably too generous.

Hard to not be discouraged by the play. I think I'd be happier about it if we were making sure Mobley was getting 15 plus shots a game, but nope, just back to guards hogging the ball... ugh...

With the roster and coaching staff as is, I have resigned myself that the
Cavs aren't going to have the ball movement of the better scoring
teams. It's as though the guards move the ball early, check those
boxes on the game plan and play the remaining 3+ quarters
with varying degrees of tunnel vision.

Bah, humbug.

Problem is you can’t ask a player to be something he’s not. That’s the role he has been asked to do his entire career. You can’t change that over night. Just like LBJ….even though he has had competent PGs on his team he has always kept the ball in his hands initiating the offense for the most part.

Donovan is averaging 5.2 assists per game, up from 4.4 last year and just 0.1 off his career high. As Mobley improves his offensive game and with Strus now in the lineup I won't be surprised if that number increases over the last three-quarters of the season.

But if Mitchell gets back to his pre-injury shooting numbers of 48% and 39% while keeping his assist average above 5.0 I will be extremely happy.

Hey Wham. Is their a way to get a W-L record, depending on who starts? I want to do a dive on what the record was when a traditional size SF ( like Wade or Stevens, last year) was in the starter vs starting a 3 guard lineup for last year

Add 4-3 as a starter this year would make the Cavs 37-30 with Dean starting over the last 4 years.

And the Cavs record is 122-128 over that same 4 years.

What a deceptive way to present stats to make a crappy point. Congrats.

Now, remove the 20-21 numbers from your "analysis."
