2023-24 Season | Game #10 | Cavs @ Kings | Nov. 13, 2023 | 10:00 p.m. NBA-TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Awful defensive performance - very little contesting of 3's. The Kings were 20-for-42. It was ridiculous. The Cavs failed to get on their man in transition consistently. Any time they score 120 they should win. I get that the Kings are an offensive juggernaut but there were too many easy shots.

The Kings led the NBA in scoring last year and were averaging 125 a game with Fox. They got 132 tonight. They came in shooting 32% on 3's and made 47.6% tonight. The Cavs perimeter defense was embarassing.

I don't understand why they follow their man around the screen and end up following him to the rim. I thought you were supposed to stay between your man and the bucket, not the other way around. Why don't we ever show hard and stop the dribbler? We're constantly defending 1 on 2 because the guy guarding the dribbler following him around the screen.

Allen was a turd with a -25 in 22 minutes. The Cavs outscored the Kings by 13 in Allen's 26 minutes on the bench. Thompson was a +8 in 13 minutes and should have played more. Allen was manhandled by Sabonis and Garland was dominated by Fox. Keegan Murray had 25 points (he averages under 14). Huerter, averaging 11.5 points, nearly doubled that with 20 in only 11 shots.

Mitchell was just 7-for-21. We have no bench outside of LeVert; Wade was scoreless and a -18 in 13 minutes. Thompson has been doing pretty well, however. He was a +8 tonight.

Strus continues to make good things happen. The Cavs were a +10 in his 34 minutes, meaning they were outscored by 22 in the 14 minutes he was out.

Sabonis schooled Allen and Mobley again and again. Next to him they both look slow, weak, and unskilled. Mobley quietly had 16 points and 12 boards, including 7 on the offensive glass, and I suppose that's what we can expect from a guy who can't dribble or shoot.

The game didn't seem as close as the final score suggests. Fox outplayed Garland and Mitchell, Sabonis outplayed Allen and Mobley, and Huerter was on fire, hitting 6-of-9 on 3's. The Cavs shot well, but they had no answer for the Kings' offense.

Why did JB throw in the towel when we were down 10 points with 2 minutes left? That’s still a winnable game

NBA games are usually 7PM local time on weekdays to maximize in person attendance. Sometimes it's not feasible to have games starting earlier than that.

The tradeoff is there's a lot of people out west who dislike 4PM local games at Eastern conference arenas because the games are played when they're at work.

At least this way, both groups can be equally unhappy :chuckle:
Just seems to me they could at least do 9:00, that's 6:00 pm Pacific, definitely manageable. I'm sure that would be extremely challenging to adjust the schedule but, I suppose home attendance is much more important than tv ratings as you suggest.

Because it's tough for fans of the home team to get to the games after work any earlier?
Wow, thank you! I never took that into consideration! 6:00-6:30 start times shouldn't be any issue. If people are working I imagine they'd rather be home earlier anyway.

10 games in I dont think it is too early to say that Mobley has regressed. Something is very wrong.

There used to be a fear when he switched on to people. Now they don’t pass, take the appropriate angle on him, and score. He’s consistently late in his movements and looks lost out there.

Why was the Plain Dealer headline, “Cavs Reach New Low”?

What new low?

Fedor can only be a puppet for so long.

Because he saw what I saw….the players’ body language said WE’RE DONE! I was at the game and the Cavs body language showed that five mins into the game when Sabonis came out started manhandling Allen and Mobley from the start! As always when this team goes up against a physical big man these two cream puffs fold like an accordion.

Obviously, you're someone who doesn't live on the west coast. A lot of the fans of these teams face significant traffic, inadequate public transportation, work far from home and from the arenas, and don't have the types of jobs where they get off at 5:00.

If I have tickets to the game….to me it would wise to ask the boss to leave work early that day!
