Postgame, Georges is so soft spoken and well spoken, too; has a future in TV someday too
He does not need to curl off screens but there are tons of possessions this season where he couldve attempted a 3 but still decided to pump fake or freelance. I couldnt count how many times I would scream at the screen for DG to just shoot the 3, instead he would over dribble and turn it over.Volume yes, but I disagree with the shots off screens like Sam does. I don't think his release is high or quick enough to pull that off.
There's also the simple fact the bigs didn't hedge nor switch to Sam. The guards also didn't always go over. Darius doesn't get those look IMO.
This post is bad juju lolDonovan Mitchell yelled, “There you go!” Darius Garland gave a look of pleasant surprise. Tristan Thompson belted, “We got an [expletive] squad now.” And before Craig Porter Jr hit the locker room door, ex-NBA star Dylan Windler hugged him & said, “Y’all look so different.”
Agreed hereHe does not need to curl off screens but there are tons of possessions this season where he couldve attempted a 3 but still decided to pump fake or freelance. Head scratcher that this team is fun to watch with garland Mobley and DM outOMG, this team is so fun to watch! Tonight it was the bench's turn to shine as Niang, LeVert, Thompson, and Merrill were all between +11 and +17 in an 8-point win.
Craig Porter Jr had seven big rebounds and three blocked shots. That guy has a tremendous vertical and he uses it to get boards and blocks he has no business getting at 6'1". He also dished out 6 assists.
In just 18 minutes TT had 10 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, and 4 steals. You don't expect backup centers to get ANY assists or steals, but he had 4 of each in limited minutes.
LeVert had 23 points in 27 minutes plus a team high 7 assists with no turnovers. With both Garland and Mitchell out we needed him to step up and he certainly did.
Merrill was phenomenal with 27 points in 30 minutes and a team high +17. Jarrett Allen had 17 pts and 8 rebounds and generally outplayed Walker Kessler.
Utah leads the NBA in offensive rebound percentage and the Cavs held them to 6. Really impressive control of the defensive glass, especially with Mobley out.
This team is showing how deep they really are. Ty Jerome has got to be wondering if he'll ever get on the court with Garland, Mitchell, LeVert, Strus, Porter, and Merrill all playing well.
Mobley is kind of a drain on the offense and Garland has been hot and cold this season.Cavs last three games (NBA's season league leaders):
128.6 PPG (IND #1 at 128)
19.3 3PM (BOS #1 at 15.8)
31.6 APG (IND #1 at 30.8)
4 of 14 highest scoring quarters on the year
JB Bickerstaff... has this offense humming?
