2023-24 Season | Game #4 | Knicks @ Cavs | Oct. 31, 2023 | 7:30 TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No joke, Okoro was massaging his hamstring at a few points. I feel like there may actually be something they’re doing training/stretching wise that’s contributing.

So we're talking about 4 guys.. who roughly all play the same position (Guard and we can leave Okoro position debates out this for a second) all dealing with hamstring issues in 4 games.

There are coincidences... and there's this.

At minimum the training staff has to be trying to look into this.

I'm not giving up either. Spring time in year 3 is when we have seem growth out of Kobys picks (okoro being the exception). If he's next to Allen and getting opportunities within the offense, he will be fine.

I think everyone needs to remember this kid isn't getting 20 shots as a #1 option every night. He's getting 12 as a third option (4th in many cases). That definitely effects growth. At least his defense is top tier and allows time for offense to come. Downside is the confidence to show the work that's been done isn't there. I thought his moves looked aggressive and confident against Indy. Not the case tonight.

If you try and get him 20 shotw, you'll have nearly 55 of around 82 FGA between our mid 3. If we can get the pace up and get FTAs up, it'll be a lot easier to see our path to offensive success.
also, People forget what Giannis looked like earlier in his career. This game tonight doesn't bother me much, because Hartenstein has like a 40-pound weight advantage over Mobley. You are correct, Mobley is our 4th option right now and he's averaging 16ppg 9rbs.

I've actually been in favor for clearing house on our medical staff for years. When you're rebuilding and you wanna sit guys out, milk injuries. These past 3 years it seems way too much simple shit keeps our guys our for too long and lingers way too much.

Let’s pump the brakes a little, we need to get guys healthy and then go on a run. Let’s give the new additions 10-15 games playing along everyone else before jumping off bridges.

Personally, I have no issues with the new guys. I am extremely worried about Mobley, though. Maybe I just need to accept that Mobley is just JJJ without a three point shot.

Yeah, it is strange that guys who are supposed to be hurt, are doing backflips while cheering on the sidelines.

That was a waste of time - the Cavs aren't going to beat anybody without Garland, Allen, and LeVert. Of course, shooting 26% on 3's didn't help. Niang and Strus were 4-for-16 on 3's and they were the guys brought in to provide outside shooting. Niang sucks. Once Allen is back he'll be out of the rotation.

It looks like TT has moved ahead of Damian Jones as the backup center. It only took three games.

The only good thing to come out of this game was Porter and Bates getting their first NBA points. Porter impressed me with his quickness. I think he has a future in this league. In 22 minutes he had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and a block. He's got a lot to learn but he's incredibly quick. He could be a Dennis Schroeder at some point.

I'm about to give up on Dean Wade. Nice defender, but still no offensive game whatsoever.

Mobley did a nice job on the glass (12 rebounds) and had 5 assists, but he still has no shooting ability whatsoever, kind of like Wade. OK, he can dunk.

Okoro had 7 rebounds, which is a huge improvement over his career so far. His career average is 2.9 and after four games he's more than doubled that to 6.3. His career scoring average of 8.3 is up to 13.0. He hasn't plateaued yet. He may be playing ahead of Strus by the end of the season. Strus had 6 points in 33 minutes and was 1-for-7 from deep. He picked a bad time to have a bad game.

The refs let Randle do whatever he wants. He can slam his shoulder into the defender's chest 3-4 times and they just let him. It doesn't matter if the defender's feet are set and he's not moving; Randle can knock him backward over and over until he gets where he wants to go. I guess they feel you can't get called for an offensive foul if you're backing up.

The Knicks excel at throwing themselves into defenders and drawing contact while they flip the ball at the rim. They shot 25 free throws to 12 for the Cavs.

I was impressed that the Cavs were down only 6 points at halftime, but in the 3rd quarter the Knicks went to doubling Mitchell and forcing him to give up the ball. It worked; even playing 4-on-3 the Cavs couldn't score. At one point in the 3rd quarter they were 5-for-25 on 3's and still only down by 8. If they could shoot 3's at all they could have made a game of this.

The Cavs couldn't shoot last year (except for Mitchell, Garland, and sometimes LeVert) and they can't shoot this year, either, although Okoro is getting better (5-for-12 on 3's and 53.8% overall).

Tomorrow we get to watch this again, only worse since the Knicks will be at home.

The sad part is I believe this would still be our record if everyone was healthy. We need a new coach preferably somebody who would tell Mobley he’s perceived around the league as a b*tch. And we need it soon before this kids confidence is shot to the point of no return
If I were running a mortgage business in the current economy my attention would not be on my basketball team.
I believe his son has taken over the Cavs day day operations

Forget Hartenstein……Mobley looked weak going up against Randall! No way this kid added any bulk to his body……not how easy Randall was backing him down! No resistance from Mobley at all!

Pretty hard to have much offense when a starter doesn’t touch the ball in the first 7 minutes of the game except for an offensive rebound.

Lol.

It's not gonna happen bro.

They've tried and tried to make Dean a thing and he just can't hang at this level.

Dean will go through spurts where he hits a few shots in a row but if we're counting on him for more than last guy off the bench, we'll be disappointed. Very immpressed with CPJ and i thought Bates played well too. Several time Bates showed some toughness on the boards that surprised me.
