2023-24 Season | Game #63 | Timberwolves @ Cavs | March 8, 2024 | 7:30 p.m. | ESPN

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Porter looked good against the Hawks. I don't think Conley can keep up with him and if Morris is out they're down to their 3rd string point guard when Conley is on the bench, which should be about half the game. We need to dominate the point guard matchups.

Yeah Porter looked great against the Hawks...and still only got 15 minutes. JBB and the org are not bought in on just how good he is.

What's his net rating this season?

that's interesting. He's actually a bit negative -- we're +2.0 when he's on court and +5.5 when he's off. We are better offensively when he's on but worse defensively by quite a bit. That might be because he's sharing court time with Niang and not Mobley or something.

I guess it's possible that JBB sees some issue with him defensively that we don't, after all he does know more about basketball and about Cavs players than RCF commenters (although most here probably won't admit that LOL).

Since the extent of KAT’s injury became known, the line has moved 3 points in the Cavs favor going from 1.5 point dogs to 1.5 point favorites

While the Wolves swept us last year, the Cavs have done more than a decent job on Anthony Edwards holding him to less than 20 points in 4 out of 6 meetings. The fact that they’re coming off a tough game last night (one in which Edwards made an incredible block to save the game but he apparently also hit his head on the backboard on the play, too) coupled with the injury to KAT and I feel it’s an excellent opportunity for the Cavs to get an important win at home. Go Cavs!

The line has moved another point to Cavs -2.5 points probably due to the fact that Anthony Edwards is now QUESTIONABLE because of left ankle soreness; Monte Morris is also out and he played last night albeit sparingly. Jordan McLaughlin is also questionable with an illness for them but he was a DNP-CD last night and has only played 8.9 minutes per game for the season

I be surprised if Anthony Edwards play tonight, he took some serious hits to floor, not to mention his ankle

I hope Ant goes, really looking forward to see what we do with him . . .

Agreed!

I don’t believe this next MJ hype but I don’t mind watching him play at all…. He has that dog in him that Mobley or Garland don’t possess and it’s nice to see.

A reminder that locally this game is the first of five to air on WUAB.
Does this mean I can't watch on Bally's?

Also feel so bad for Wolves fans with the KAT news. They had a real shot to make a deep playoff run. And they can still make some noise. But in today's NBA everything changes so much season to season and you can't always bank on the next year.

Also one really good thing we have going for us is that Gobert can't pull JA away from the rim. We've gotten beat a lot lately on porous perimeter defense and not having both Mobley and Allen. If you have just one of those guys on the court, and they are defending a stretch 4/5, and your perimeter defense is porous, it's layups all night for the opposing team.

if Ant can't go, this is a "who knows?" kind of game. late season games are so unpredictable because of injuries. just 2 weeks ago, it looked like both teams would be at full strength. Now both teams could be down at least 2 key starters and 50+ points per game. Overall, I like our chances, especially if Ant is out. Without him, I don't see how they generate enough offense with Okoro, Wade & Allen on the floor. Unless we just shoot putridly again, we should win this at our place.
