Will Brennan running himself out at 3B with a 2-0 lead cost us this game, stupid mistake, he was out by a mile

Back-to-back batters making the final, then 1st out of innings getting thrown out at 3rd. Cardinal sin. Bell - the play was right in front of him and there really was no need to try and stretch it. Brennan - just didn't even look to see where the ball was in relation to his spot on the base path.

I left the house after the 7th thinking this game was an easy W. WTF was I thinking??

It was a boneheaded play, but the team was still leading at the time. Emmanuel Clase coughing up 2 runs when team was leading in the 10th is what actually cost the game.

They threw that one away between boneheaded base running and Stephan and Clase giving up three runs, not counting the ghost runner. Barlow and Chapman were just better than Stephan and Clase.

I hate to see them waste one of the greatest plays of Jose Ramirez's career - a straight steal of home, possibly the rarest play in baseball. It hasn't been done in the majors in five years. But waste it they did.

Two runners thrown out on the bases plus Straw getting picked off first. I can't believe Brennan tried for a triple when the throw was away before he even got to second base. It looked like he made up his mind that anything that got to the wall in right center was a triple. But the right fielder was playing him toward center and got to the ball quickly and Brennan was out by a mile. That stupid decision cost us the game.

Bell was on first base with two out and running on a 3-2 count but he still got thrown out at third on a bloop single. How freaking slow is he?

Hope Josh Naylor's hand is OK. He looked to be in a lot of pain in his last at-bat. With a lefty going for the Cubs tomorrow he'll probably get the day off.

Stephan needs to focus. In Tuesday's game he missed the pitchout sign or maybe he just forgot it in five seconds. Bo Naylor still threw out the runner after a 360 spin, but like Manning said about Stephan; "His head's not in the game". Today with one out in the 8th he walks Lopez, who is hitting .206, and of course Lopez scores the first of two runs. Inexcusable.

Stephan and Clase couldn't put away hitters with two strikes. Both RBI singles off Stephan came with two strikes on the hitter. In the 10th Lopez got an infield single on an 0-2 pitch and Fermin got the game-winning hit on a 2-2 pitch after three consecutive foul balls. The hit came on a hanging slider, the third one in a row. My feeling is if you're going to get beat, get beat throwing your best pitch. Clase threw Fermin seven pitches and six of them were sliders. A fastball at the knees might have gotten a double play ball to end the game.

The Guardians were 1-for-8 with RISP. They had 13 baserunners against Greinke (11 hits, 2 walks) but only 2 runs. Just a really, really frustrating day in terms of pitching, hitting, and base running. It took all three to throw this one away.

That was a big fat juicy 91mph slider
Then that was like the 4th slider in a row he threw. Just go hard inside. Not much he’s gonna be able to do with that.

Clase is not a strikeout pitcher. Never will be. Doesn’t make him a great option with the runner starting on second. He’s a good option to start an inning cuz he doesn’t walk people. Our current bullpen guys aren’t going to get better. We need to improve the personnel next year.

This team has lost at its dumbest imaginable way everytime they get close to 500. I realize every team has a few of those every year, but for barely half a season, we've had way too many of them. Lost almost half the games by 1 run.

This is how you fuck up an entire season. We'd be out of it in every other Division in MLB and all we'd talk about is what to get back for Bieber and who else to sell off.
there you go again.. using truth, facts and well founded logic to make a point.. such sadness...

Changing absolutely nothing else, if the bullpen was simply as dominant as last year, this team would be like 6-7 games over .500 and in first by a wide margin.

Four guys thrown out on the bases or picked off (Straw, Bell, Gimenez, Brennan). 13 batters got on base against Greinke and 2 of them scored. This is a guy with a 5.31 ERA. Stephan and Clase gave up four hits when they had two strikes on the hitter.

Hard to believe how bad the Guardians were at hitting, base running, and relief pitching yesterday. You have to fuck up in several different areas to lose to the Royals, and that's exactly what they did.
