Some reports seem to suggest Ohtani made payments to bail out Mizuhara and other reports now make it seem like Mizuhara stole the funds?
The first option is extremely troubling for Ohtani because that makes him complicit in the gambling. The second is also bizarre because why would your interpreter, however close he is to you, have access to your bank accounts?
There are absolutely parts of this that are not passing the smell test. Which doesn't mean Ohtani has done anything wrong, at least intentionally so, but it is not a good look.
I mean hell, this was the guy that if the Dodgers fired, Ohtani could opt out or something right ?
