2024 Draft Prospects

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’ve been warming to the idea of drafting a rb. If you think you need a long term answer now then take one early, instead of my idea of trying to strike gold late.
I am a total casual fan but is it possible that the philosophy is that there is no such thing as a long-term fit at running back?

I think the hybrid position like Kamara or McCaffrey might be the ideal fit next to Chubb. I don’t expect that caliber of player but that would be what I think the offense would want.

I know that it has failed before here but maybe that bulky WR offers a better draft value to play some RB. Just spitballing.

Calling my shot, I think the Brown surprise some here and move up to take an offensive weapon on Day 2

In my eyes, we'll leave this draft with a shiny new TE, WR/RB, LB, iOL & CB

Hard for me to envision them adding along the DLine as much as like to continue to invest there, I just don't think they can avoid that forthcoming roster numbers crunch. Especially if "Lamborghini Ika" shows promise over this summer. Hurst was found money in this regard last season, hoping Ogbo stays healthy and Wright takes a massive stride forward again this season.

I hope we can snag another difference maker at LB to pair long term with Wu. Adding such to our stacked back end would be abundantly fruitful.

I'd be shocked if we moved up.

I think it's much more likely we trade down.

I think we'll continue to place a priority on drafting the positions we feel are valuable. CB, DL, WR.

If you hit big in those spots, with a plus-starter on a rookie deal, you're ahead of the curve.

Seems more likely to me that the Browns move a player for a pick vs trading up for a pick.

I think the Browns are too far back in the 2nd to be able to make a big leap up and grab an ‘impact player’. I think they’ll potentially do that in the draft next year in the 1st assuming Watson plays well.

Browns have several holes where they need to add depth. I don’t think they can afford to sacrifice a couple picks to move up for a single guy.

literally just realized the draft is tomorrow. With the Guardians 16-6 and the Cavs up 2-0 I forgot all about it

I get that entirely, truly.

Am imagining they do it for someone impactful such as an immediate TE2 for the team this season that others may overlook with the perceived forthcoming run on WR's

Browns now are notorious for exploiting strategies/positions well under league under market values.

Outside of Bowers taking a monster slide, I don’t see a TE in this draft that is that type of an immediate impact player. This isn’t a very good TE class in general.

I like Sanders from Texas, but don’t think he really justifies trading up when the Browns already have Njoku. Plus, it sounds like the Browns probably won’t be running as much double TE this year. I have no problem taking Sanders if he’s there in the second, or drafting a TE in the 3rd or 4th, I just can’t see using draft capital to move up and take any TE outside of Bowers this year.

Sinnott or Stover in the 3rd or 4th would be where I’d be looking at TE. I’d prefer Sinnott out of those two.

Here is my Day 2 mock draft:

Round 2: No. 54

Junior Colson - LB - Michigan

Lowest missed tackle percentage among the top LBs this year (4.7%), he's far and away the clear LB1 for me and will play in the league for a very long time. Sideline to sideline athleticism on tape, physicality to take on the OL and shed/stack in the box.

Diagnoses plays, reacts quickly, doesn't miss -- he's the perfect compliment to JOK in his consistency and run-stuffing ability and if he's there at 54 he is my top choice.

Green dot player.

Like these guys, too: Kingsley Suamataia (LT, BYU), Michael Hall (DT, OSU), Ruke Orhorhoro (DT, Clemson), Kamari Lassiter (CB, UGA), Mike Sanristil (NB, Michigan)

Really intrigued by the Suamataia selection as a young future starter at LT -- they have to figure out that position if they're not going to transition Dawand into that role.

Round 3: No. 85

Ben Sinnott - TE/HB - Kansas State

Relentless blocker and unique weapon that is perfect for playing on a team with a ZBS, likes to move around the second TE and create leverage up front for a RB with great vision. I've been on Sinnott since the beginning of this draft season and I'm not stopping -- he's such a great fit for this team.

Like these guys, too: Kiran Amegadjie (OT, Yale), Cole Bishop (S, Utah), Jaden Hicks (S, Wash St.), Javon Foster (LT, MIzzou), Brandon Coleman (G, TCU)

Foster and Coleman are above the age limit for Cleveland picks, but they are loaded up with starting experience and look like technically sound starters that thrive in the right scheme. Bishop and Hicks are prototype size & leadership types who could be green dot players in the back end.

How do you have the following linebackers ranked:
  1. Junior Colson
  2. Edgerrin Cooper
  3. Jeremiah Trotter
  4. Payton Wilson
I know sites like PFF have Wilson head-and-shoulders as number 1, but I think this entire group is closer than people think.

Wilson is also the oldest of the group.

Colson is the clear number one for me, I don't know if he's there by 54.

Cooper and Wilson are the clear next two -- with how you view age likely the separating factor for both as I think they're both good enough athletes to play at this level.

Trotter is probably behind Cedric Gray and Trevin Wallace for me, as well. He's undersized, has a 16% missed tackle rate, not a great athlete given his lacking size.

I'd be really surprised if they take a LB on Day 2...

This regime has historically not highly valued the position and there's no JOK on Day 2 to make an exception to the rule..

I think Sanders might be off our boards in the 2nd round because of position and RAS. Seems to go against a lot of the analytical guardrails. Stover is probably out in the 3rd as well due to age. I could see the Browns picking either if they drop though.

If I had to make a guess and they stay at the current slots, I’d go with Michael Hall at 54 and Sinnott at 85. Those two seem to check the most boxes from what the Browns are looking for.
