2024 Season | Series #10 | Guardians @ Astros | Apri 30 - May 2, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Please don't change the topic from the Rocchio-Arias Wars
I skipped the last 30 pages cause I'm at work and didn't want to read the play by play from the first inning. I'm sure the debate is worth re-reading.

I'm about tired of Bo. Love the kid. But the bat isn't shit right now and he made a shit ton of mistakes today behind the plate. I'm not suggesting benching him or anything... more like have Hedges tie him to a chair, tape his eyes open and make him watch Hedges hit BP

It's not.

That might be the most sure fire way of making sure Bo ends up a career .188 hitter! Brilliant!

Did you mean catch BP?

A few thoughts:

1) If actual production counts, the utility guy who should be getting more at bats is Fry.

2) If winning the division is the goal...and it should be...finding at bats by sticking players where they shouldn't be...should not happen. But winning has not been the priority for the FO for at least two years.

3) Rough start to the season, culminating on last nights fiasco, for Bo. But the org has put all its eggs in one basket, and his track record is too good, to do anything but play him regularly. I'm still very high on him, but this should give pause to those who insist that every top prospect is automatically gonna be instant production. Over the last decade we've had...uh...two position prospects. Kwan and Lindor.

4) Manzardo isn't gonna be called up to be a part time player or mainly a platoon bat. Several players are gonna lose at bats when he arrives.

5) Last night was on Vogt. But in game decisions, which most fans solely focus on, is not the measurement of a manager. So far, he's done a good job.

6) The team has been in a long meat grinder, with game after game being close, and so many times having to come back from deficits, because of the rotation. It showed last night. The team as a whole gets a pass. They deserve it.

7) Very good news on the pitching front that over shadows everything else...

The rotation has finally begun to hit its stride. Against very good offenses on the road, Bibee-Lively-TMac-Allen have combined for a 1.875 ERA

8) We play seven of the next ten vs bottom feeders.

Kind of an embarrassing end to that game. Offense couldn't even get going against the pirate nephew of Dave Righetti.

You never bench a guy like that with such a high ceiling.
Young guys get benched for a game or pulled out of a game regularly. I was watching the Rockies-Marlins game today and it happened to a Miami guy in this series. They highlighted the guy got yanked out of the game for not running out a hit ball on Tuesday and had the game winner on Wednesday.

I think you treat lack of effort much differently than errors in the field or struggling at the plate. One you never tolerate in young players, the other you mostly have to accept as growing pains.

I was kidding. I know the debate without reading the debate.

Shit.. I didn't think about Bo taking hitting tips. I thought of it as a punishment. Get tortured watching Hedges hit meatballs in the dirt.

Slept on it; still salty AF.

Obvious sarcasm on my part.
