A few thoughts:
1) If actual production counts, the utility guy who should be getting more at bats is Fry.
2) If winning the division is the goal...and it should be...finding at bats by sticking players where they shouldn't be...should not happen. But winning has not been the priority for the FO for at least two years.
3) Rough start to the season, culminating on last nights fiasco, for Bo. But the org has put all its eggs in one basket, and his track record is too good, to do anything but play him regularly. I'm still very high on him, but this should give pause to those who insist that every top prospect is automatically gonna be instant production. Over the last decade we've had...uh...two position prospects. Kwan and Lindor.
4) Manzardo isn't gonna be called up to be a part time player or mainly a platoon bat. Several players are gonna lose at bats when he arrives.
5) Last night was on Vogt. But in game decisions, which most fans solely focus on, is not the measurement of a manager. So far, he's done a good job.
6) The team has been in a long meat grinder, with game after game being close, and so many times having to come back from deficits, because of the rotation. It showed last night. The team as a whole gets a pass. They deserve it.
7) Very good news on the pitching front that over shadows everything else...
The rotation has finally begun to hit its stride. Against very good offenses on the road, Bibee-Lively-TMac-Allen have combined for a 1.875 ERA
8) We play seven of the next ten vs bottom feeders.
