2024 Season | Series #9 | Guardians @ Braves | April 26-28, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Florial spits at two straight backdoor breaking balls, and walks with one out.

When Ted Turner owned TBS and the Braves wasn't it a 7:07 start time to get more commercial revenue before the game started?
In that vein: when the Braves signed Andy Messersmith (then a big-name free agent) in 1976, they assigned him uniform number 17, and (unsuccessfully) petitioned the league to have the name on the back of his jersey read “Channel”. (At the time, WTBS was channel 17 on most systems.)

We shall see.

But you could say much the same thing about a younger Andres Gimenez.

Andres was never bottomed out like this in all facets of the game.

He was never a negative defensive player. He was never a negative base runner.

He was still able to positively effect games while the hitting was developing in the MLB.

Rocchio isn’t in the same stratosphere as Andres in those 2 areas.

Rooting for the kid, but I need to see signs somewhere this good player is coming in the MLB, because the reality is so far Arias through his first 170 PAs has outperformed Rocchio through his, and you know as well as anyone here Arias wasn’t giving you enough at the SS spot.

4th overall is 4th overall.

What does anybody think the average OBP is so far this year?

Overall its .314. In the AL its .306.

So, you think Arias needs more than 400 ABs to show what he can do, but 170 is enough for Rocchio.

We shall see.

Manning giving Brennan a lot of credit for what I consider a misplay on that double from Ozuna.
It looked like he was bluffing that he could catch something that he didn't think he could. Kwan often makes that play with the high LF wall at Progressive Field, but there were no runners on base to fool.

Then again, Ozuna is a massive douche so I don't know if not hustling is in his game.

hmm.. it looked like the ball hit off the wall above the cyclone fence opening.. deflected downward off the lower pad and onto the field.. So, not really a misplay.. imho..

Yeah, because you have an extreme outlier inflating the numbers...

Fry's OBP is.... .444.

Kwan is .377, Josh Naylor is .362...

Gimenez at .330 and Laureano at .311 are inflated by HBP...

Brennan has .310...

No Fry... We are below the league average...

Somebody has to cover first, so Kwan gets an inf hit.
