2024 Season | Series #9 | Guardians @ Braves | April 26-28, 2024

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We just can't help ourselves...lol. Without a doubt, somebody...or lots of somebodies...will make this out to be something other than an interleague series in April.

If we make the playoffs, somebody will harken back to this weekend as a way to substantiate a point of view....lol.

We have enough pitching, we don't have enough pitching, our guys can hammer any pitching staff, our guys fold when they face real pitching. Whatever it is, somebody will point to this series as proof.

If the Guards win this series, we will be hoisting the ALC pennant next week, and wondering when WS tix go on sale. If the Guards get hammered, we will be making up lists of who is on the auction block in July.

It is what it is...a little more interesting baseball matchup in April. Fortunately, our sensational start is what has made it interesting.

Enjoy, and be thankful.
We went 5-2 against Boston, who is 12-7 in the rest of their games.

We went 6-1 against Oakland, which is 9-10 against everybody else. The A's just went 2-2 against the Yankees in New York with the cumulative score being 12-11.

We went 2-1 against Seattle (cumulative score 17-7), which is 12-10 against their other opponents.

The only bad series so far was going 1-2 in New York and being outscored 18-12.

So the Braves series will be interesting but if the Guardians get swept it won't negate what they've accomplished so for and if they win the series it won't mean they're the best team in the A.L. But it will do a lot for their confidence which is already pretty high from what I can tell.

I see that Johnathan Rodriguez is now the prospect du jour....lol.

*******

Albies is batting in the two hole tonight.

2 out of 3 would be a great outcome.

That Braves lineup is something else.

Nothing funny about Laureano's .170 batting average.

If you ignore the fact that Laureano has historically been a slow starter. His career April wRC+ is 90, not far off his present 86.

He's got until May ends... IF he isn't doing better by then, don't be surprised IF he is gone...

Hunter Gaddis kind of looks like he just walked off the set of Sons of Anarchy.

Laureano is a slightly above average hitter vs righties, and well above average vs lefties. He also is an elite defensive RF, capable of playing a decent CF. He's a fine ball player who traditionally starts cold.

The FO didn't pay him to be on a short leash.
