It Occurred to me that a portion of the users of this forum may not know what a rumor is.
Sure, they may have a basic understanding of the term, but that (A basic understanding) rarely suffices when one is attempting to debate the truthfulness or untruthfulness of a statement.
With that in-mind, I thought I'd enlighten those of you who may not know what a rumor is, but are too ignorant in your bliss to realize it.
According to the Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, a rumor, by definition, is: "...An unverified account or explanation of events circulating from person to person and pertaining to an object, event, or issue in public concern (Peterson, Gist 159).”
Using this definition (or any definition from any recognized dictionary), I failed to see where it says that a person who carries-on a rumor (In this instance, that is me), must be connected to the situation from which the rumor derives.
In this case that would be connected to the Cleveland Cavaliers; Which I am not directly related(Although I am in the entertainment industry and do have some very unique relationships that allow me to hear things).
When a rumor is spread, and it pertains to the Cavaliers, that does not mean that the rumor will become fact. For instance: The Michael Redd rumor a few years back. Did it become true? Or how-about the Chris Mullin Rumor...lots of people believed that (Some of you may be too young to remember that), but it never happened.....yet that didn't mean the rumor was a lie.
Those of you that attempt to put yourselves on a petal-stool, at the expense
of someone else, make for some amusing reading.
I received 14 emails from forum members here, telling me to ignore the people that act as if they were born when two cows bumped butts. However, I have no need to ignore anyone, as I like to hear everyone's opinion. Although the idea of me lounging in a Chaise is a bit of a stretch....yet, still amusing.
Any rumors that you may hear, that don't come to fruition... that has nothing to do with the validity of the rumor. Rather, it has more to do with what the Cavaliers are willing to part with.
For instance.... Just because Houston and Miami are having talks about Rafer... that doesn't mean what I said was not true. It only means that Miami may offer more...or that perhaps Cleveland has decided they aren't interested...or maybe they are and want it quiet.
One thing that you can't deny (The detractors) is that you heard about Houston wanting to trade Rafer here before you heard about it anywhere. And if I just picked that out of my arse...well, then I am damn lucky.... and if that is the case.... then perhaps I should play the powerball.
In the grand scheme of things we are all right and we are all wrong.
