ALDS Game 2 Indians vs. Yankees

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A-rod takes WAY too much crap from the media. This series the yankees as a team are 8-66 (.121) as a team and the fabled derek jeter has only 1 of those hits, putting the blame on A-rod is ridiculous. right now the indians pitchers are totally dominating. not that its surprising, because if the national media paid attention at all they would have realized the indians have 2 #1 pitchers and a DAMN good bullpen

When you play in the biggest city in the country, are on one of the biggest teams in the country, and are paid more then anyone in the league, perform like a mad man in the regular season, then strikeout 3 times in one game....yea....you deserve some blame for not being able to perform. And this sure as hell isnt the first time.

Amazing game to watch last night. All those chances that the Indians had, but couldn't capitalize on. Makes the win that much sweeter. If it was anyone but the Yankees (and probably Boston), this is the type of loss that would be near impossible to come back from. We'll see tomorrow how they come back from it. This is where having a good coaching staff is really important.

Sure, the bugs were crazy in the 8th, and obviously bothered Joba, but it's not like he was the only one they were swarming. Reading some of the articles/analysis about the game, it seems like people (not the Yankees players) are blaming the bugs, and not just saying that Joba had a bad game. He just happened to be all over the place. The bugs were just as bad for Fausto and Mariano in the 9th, and they didn't have any problems locating their pitches.

Very nice to see Hafner finally come through. Not sure if that is the hit that will propel him to a big postseason, but it certainly can't hurt.

I couldn't believe Fausto hit 94mph 95mph and another 94mph in consecutive pitches in the 9th inning..beast.

Agreed... I was listening to John Sterling (Yankees radio broadcaster) after the game last night, and he was blaming the bugs and using it as an excuse..

Bottom line is, the Yankees had 7 innings to get something going before the bugs.. Fausto threw one bad pitch (in fact, it wasn't that bad-- it was a slider that was down and in, but didn't break in far enough, and caught part of the plate).. Give Melky credit, he torched it... However, that was all the great Yankee lineup could get off of him...

Fausto was spitting bugs out of his mouth, throwing 95mph in the 9th inning to Arod with Abreu in scoring position... Fausto owned them last night plain and simple.. And so did Raffy Perez.. Can't forget him..

Indians should have won that game by 5 runs... The youthful Cabrera did in fact show his age last night... He was trying his hardest to give them that game.. Way too anxious at the plate.. First pitch swinging with guys in scoring position at balls that were 3 feet off the plate...

Nonetheless, quality win...

Good learning experience for Asdrubal though,he should be a lot calmer for now on I hope.

the only one I have heard that comes close is kevin brown in his prime. He could go out there an just throw sinker after sinker just like carmona.
Holy shit..

I swear, last night during the game I was telling my buddy that Fausto reminded me of Kevin Brown..

I remember Kevin going against the Indians in the 97 world series... Then, when I was living in San Diego, the Padres acquired Kevin, and took the Padres to the World Series in 98 against the Yankees..

Kevin had a power sinker that fell off the table as well... His only problem was keeping his emotions in check throughout a game... But he was dominant in his day with that pitch...

^ I agree, the comparison to Kevin Brown is a good one for Fausto. They have very similar deliveries and feed off that emotion out there. The major difference of course... Fausto is only 23!

And yes A-Cab did show his youth last night, but at least he was able to lay down two great sac bunts to move Kenny over. That's something that used to drive me nuts back in the Tribe's glory days of the 90's... guys like Kevin Seitzer and Jeremy Burnitz couldn't get the big bunt down when we needed to move a runner over. The Tribe did it 4 times last night.

My vocal chords are still recovering from being there last night. It was just a mentally and physically draining game to attend. But ultimately an overwhelmingly joyous experience once Hafner lined in the game winner. It made it not seem so bad that the side window on my Wrangler was sliced open as someone tried to break into my car.

This picture of Kenny says it all:

I was very happy to see this as well. It is so frustrating when all you need to do is put a bunt down, and you can't do it. These are professionals! They all should be able to bunt. Props to the guys who were able to lay one down. It's crucial in low-scoring games

It was just a mentally and physically draining game to attend.

Man, it was draining just to watch on TV, I couldn't even imagine the emotional swings flowing through that ballpark.

WTF ? :uhh: (It pretty much sums up the Yanks right now)

That's good lumber.

Would have been funny if he didn't tap the plate, and swung at the next pitch. The barrel might've gone into the Stanks bullpen. :chuckles:

A-Cab was doing good at 2nd base. I cant wait till he starts playing shortstop becuase Peralta needs a stronger arm.
