Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Reminds me of Westbrook without the effort. Just puts up impressive stats, but has no desire or fire to win. Was horrible defensively tonight.

I’m really curious to see what Toronto offers Fred Van Vleet......I hope Cavs make him a very aggressive offer.

He instantly makes Cavs a 6-8 seed with Drummond and Love at the 5 & 4 positions respectively. And Van Vleet plays excellent defense.

He’s a guy I’d definitely overpay for honestly.
Drummond and Love is not a good pairing, two dinosaurs on defense. Need a Covington type next to Drummond who cab move his feet and shoot

I also think we saw them have this mentality that they are the best two players and should control the ball in this game. They can't break down a defense with their skill sets. Taking the ball out of the guards hands might inflate both Drummond and Love's numbers but it won't stop this team from getting blown out.

We will see how this fares out but one of my fears was that a reduced role for Thompson was detrimental to this team's ability to stay in games. If you look back at those flurry of wins we had early in the year, they were behind good Thompson performances. As limited as he is, when he's engaged - he can be the difference between a win and a loss. Nance, Tristan, and Henson plus Love were the top VORP players on the team. You take Henson out, reduce Nance and Tristan's minutes, plus Love not super engaged then things could get ugly.

I don't even know what the solution is. Beilen can figure it out and earn his money!

I agree Beilein has alot to work out. I'm hoping that Beilein can get through to Drummond and Love about how the team needs to develop Garland, Sexton, and Porter. Taking the ball out of the guards hands just creates more issues with consistently scoring the ball. Drummond can be another piece of the puzzle but we aren't going anywhere if our young guys don't develop. Our bigs needs to play within their role and not try to extend into the young guys roles. Beilein can't just let this offense be a free for all, where players decide they will play based on some dream skill set that doesn't fit the position they play.

Hated his body language from the start. God damnit..nothing works out fine.

"I don’t care about the record. I don’t care about the scoreboard. I just care about did we get better today?’ Obviously we are not going to win every game the rest of the way, but our goal is to win some games. We’re not going to sit down and allow teams to blow us out. We are going to play to the best of our ability each and every night. My goal is to push these guys and keep them positive and just continue to work hard. We show no quit." - Andre Drummond after the Clippers game

Well, I love his attitude. He doesn't talk like a short-timer who's just going to go through the motions for 30 games and move on. He seems like he really wants to contribute and help the team prepare to be better next year whether he's here or not.

And as Love said, it's going to take the Cavs some time to reorient their game to having a player like him on the floor. He said it will take some practices over the break and probably some games after that before we start to "hit our stride". So get ready for more pain but we should see a more competitive team over the last 20 games or so.

If Drummond played with the kind of effort TT puts in on a semi regular basis, what is Dre's upside? I know, it won't happen, the motor was always the question coming out of UConn, and you can't practice it into a person.

I recall Drummond saying many of the same things while in Detroit, but it mostly turned out to be empty gesturing. It looked like he was playing not to get hurt this year as a Piston, and it seems to be the same here.

Drummond specializes in taking plays off to conserve energy - especially on defense (kind of like Lebron during the regular season). On the bright side, you will get this maddening partial effort consistently, so you can expect exactly what you saw tonight. As long as you accept that this is what he is, you will not be disappointed with the results.

Guys, the team barely ran any plays. I just watched the short version. They were running basic sets that every team knows how to defend - especially one who has Doc Rivers as the coach.

Yesterday's game signals nothing about Drummond's fit on the team or the rest of the season. Just move on.

Other than his effort on the defensive end. He isn’t an impact player on that end.
