Anthony Schwartz - Former Brown

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Has anyone seen or heard the rumblings that there have been “a lot of balls on the ground” when thrown his way —e.g. more drops than you’d like to see?

Saw a quick clip on YouTube wherein the narrator stated MKC reported something along tjeee lines. I’m not trying to stir or present myself as panicky, I’m m just wondering if that’s circulating elsewhere at all.

Schwartz battled a spring hamstring pull and a broken finger and then broken hand, which screwed up his sophmore season. He was granted a redshirt year for medical reasons. I think most of the hands bad press comes from that year.

Last season was considered a success, despite some bad quarterback play and a rush-oriented offense. He left with two years of eligibility for good reason, the program is a bad match.

This is ascertained by googling “Auburn wide receivers in the NFL.”

Schwartz bump--

Kid exceeded my expectations by a mile yesterdayy. He looks like a receiver with track star speed rather than a track star who may or may not learn how to be a receiver. He needs to improve as is the case with all rookies, but I think the future is really bright for him.

Baker made tremendous throws all day yesterday and didn’t get to cash in bc the RB’s were doing it for him. Baker was no surprise, the RB’s were no surprise and the line was no surprise.

For that reason, Schwartz excited me the most. He won’t be this good all season being that he’s a rookie and that was a terrible defense. But he showed out and made some really good catches on some really great passes.

Yeah, you see the potential there for sure. His speed will be a problem for defenses. I think defenses won't respect it as much initially which will give us opportunities for big plays, and when they DO start to respect it then we can cash in on the spacing he creates.

I think he screwed up a route yesterday, but over all there was a lot to get excited about. The big positive is that after one game, it doesn't look like he has "tits for hands" (as my Russian friends might say)

I think this was a big part of the prospect write-up on him. He is a football player first--not just a track star who plays football (Marquise Goodwin et al).

I was a little afraid that his spot in the rotation was due to his draft status and not his abilities. I'm glad that I was wrong. I'm a fan of Higgins, but I didn't miss him yesterday.

Definitely have to eat crow because I commented in another thread that I wasn't expecting much from him at all. He certainly has things to improve on but it was a nice showing yesterday, to be sure.

Same, soft tissue injury + limited reps in camp.

Maybe they were playing it a bit close to the vest in the lead up to week one, if so....that makes me happy.

That's the level of under-handedness and card playing you'd like to see from your organization, if true.
