Those are like fakes I guess according to CNN news. The average for a PS3 is going for about 3,000.

That is the average.

On the news today, or Rover's Morning Glory, they were reporting that a PS3 just sold for $10,000. They were keeping track of it live on the show. Ya, dude, it is for real.

In fact, for the 360 last year, this one fake Xbox360 (it was actually a piece of cardboard) was sold for like 3, or 7 grand. I forget. So, its not far from the realm of the possibility that a PS3 went for 15 grand. In fact, its not a possibility, its a fact.

How much have you followed these console wars?


I have followed it pretty closely, and the chance of you getting a PS3 before February-March is about 1 in 1.4 million.

Why, well Sony was trying to get more than a mill out in stores, but they had a backup because of the BluRay drives.

For example, they only released about 80,000-100,000 PS3s in Japan. They released only 400,000 PS3s in Chine and Taiwan combined. I forget the exact figures for the states, but it is something like around 70,000 I think.

Now the probability that I said is only applied if and ONLY if these consoles keep coming off the shelves like hotcakes.

So, there is a shortage of PS3s. And the laws of econimics are proving right.

PS- In Japan, only 88,000 consoles were sold out of the 100,000.
 
I'd say there will be virtually no way to get a ps3 before the end of the year unless you are willing to pay ebay rape prices, or if you get extremely lucky, perhaps having some inside source somewhere who gets you one.
 
My brother told me that only about half of the systems are ready to go, so a lot of people who have pre-orders may not get theres in time.

Either way the PS3 launch games all suck, Nothing impressive at all.
 
all i want is madden, and these 23,000 PS3's wont be payed up get real, nobody is paying that much for something that costs $600.
 
im with James... im getting a PS3 when madden 08 comes out.. it'll only be 500 or maybe less for a 60 GB..
 
i was sorta of thinking it all through, its really a waste of money/time to even worry about getting one right now, being rational....like deadlock said, there isnt anything good out except games you can buy for your PS2 right now. i got to admit, i really want the blu-ray dvd player, but i also want them to work all the bugs out because there will be any.

You really think that the Premium PS3 will be <$600 in one year? :chuckles:

Sony is losing $240 on each console. If they lower the selling price without matching the "Variable Cost Principle", and you will see Sony out of console business.

The idea of that principle is that cost to procude a single unit lowers depending on how many you are producing at the same time. Its a simple economics principle, but I suck at explaining it. lol

Point being, they are losing so much money on each console, the procution price of each console is actually about $860 right now I believe. So, it will be years before they start getting even with their costs. And maybe they never will see profit from their console like it happened to Microsoft with their Xbox1.

The claim that Sony is going with right now is that their console is so powerful and with so many features that their PS3 will be their main console for 10 years. AHAHAHA. They will be out of the console business before they see year 8. In 4-5 years Microsoft will release the Xbox3 and Sony will be 2 years behind, and then they got the problems with the Variable costs and everything else all over again. BAM! Sony is out. They are playing with fire here, and they better play it smart.

PS- You want a preview Madden 2008 for the PS3? Just go play Madden 2006 for the 360. Cause the PS3 Madden 2008 still wount have many of the feature of the X360's 2008 Madden. It will be 1 year behind in development, and it will look shitty. Plus, lets not forget that its a bitch to program for the PS3.
 
^X-Box fan boy, i dont care whats better, i have never liked x-box and never will, the money issue isnt really a problem to me, because even if they charge $800 for it...your still getting a blu-ray DVD player for about $200 less then buying a Blu-Ray player at Best Buy.

I'm not a fanboy. I am getting a PS3 when they become available. And I'm getting a Wii also.

In fact, I dont even have a Xbox360.

The reason I know this info is cause I invest in technology companies in the Stock Market. And I need to know the ins' and outs' of all these companies to make educated decisions. I dont play is stupid. I have to make some kind of prediction about the company before I invest.
 
Solid Snake is right, if there is a price cut it will be 50 or even 30. If that.

But anyways what is PS3 big game title this year? I don't see nothing good at all. Xbox has just gotten better titles. Unless you like role playing then the PS3 is for you.
 
all of the ones on ebay are now in the 1,000-1,3000 range, which is surprising, i thought the hype would really last for these, i told you people werent paying 3,000 for this, i really hope $600 is worth 3 days of camping to these people.
