Impossible for them to play twice....it is just too unlikely.

what other 1 loss team would be more deserving???

It's not that Michigan wouldnt be deserving, it's just the drop in the rankings they would take. Combine that with other teams winning their conference championships and also having one loss, at the time of the loss, it would be too difficult to pull off.

Cali, what you need to consider is the timing of the loss. You can lose early, but you can't lose late. When you lose you typically drop to the bottom of the 1 loss teams. If you lose again you drop to the bottom of the 2 loss teams, etc. This is roughly what happens when you lose. If you lose early you have time to gain ground, but not if you lose late. The computers even have the timing of the loss figured into their equations.

The only way I could see a UM - OSU rematch is if all other teams have 2 or more losses, and OSU and UM both have 1 or less losses. That's not going to happen. There will be other teams with only 1 loss (although probably not many).

We could see a rematch of Texas and OSU though. The long horns would need alot of help, but if they win out they might leap the undefeated Big East teams. Remeber, they will have a conference championship game, which will really help their strength of schedule/quality wins. Texas isn't very likely though (but more like than UM).

If ND wins out and both Florida and Auburn have 2 losses, I believe the Irish will make the title game, even if Louisville or WVU are undefeated. They're already way ahead of them in the computer polls, and beating USC will only help them.

At this point, my money is on one of the SEC teams. If Florida or Auburn win out, they're in. I think USC will drop one somewhere, which will push them behind the SEC teams.
