Question because I’d imagine it’s going to become relevant with Baker in a few years. If a player makes a ton of money through sponsorships and endorsements...like say 10x the amount of his player contract, would that make the player more willing to sign an extension for a discounted price? It seems like Tom Brady has been doing this for years.
It feels like it would be easy to circumvent the cap in this way, especially if said sponsorship is also a sponsor of the team.
