Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agreed. Triple your hot takes clog up practically every Browns thread and it's getting old. I even agree with some of them but the way you aggressively go at others that disagree with you is a bit juvenile.

I know you'll respond with a predictable, "it's an internet message board. That's what I am supposed to do...don't be so sensitive", but i've been coming to RCF since the Amare Safari days because it has some of the most informed fans I've ever come across but these Browns forums have become such a slog this season and you're contributing to it. No actual discourse, simply "you don't agree, well fuck you then!". Be better than the bandwagoners.

I know AZ can be an insufferable boob at times but he gets a pass because he is one of the most knowledgeable on this board when it comes to football. Not shocked you put him on ignore simply because he continued to go at you with facts and reasoned arguments. Instead of putting him on ignore, perhaps learn a thing or two about defending takes.

He does look a bit fatter this year for whatever reason. He did get married this off-season but still frustrating. Granted, this is completely just an eye test thing and should have little effect on his decision-making in the pocket and arm accuracy but perhaps it illustrates that not enough work was put in this off-season, which is troubling if that's the case.

This is coming from a guy who is literally questioning Bakers work ethic because he got married and may have put on a little bit of weight.

As if that’s a reason to say the guy didn’t work hard enough this off season.

As far as AZ_ goes it got to a blatant point of trolling where he started saying the things Baker is doing wrong currently in this NFL season are all the things he was saying limits Bakers season before the draft. Just a ridiculous way to spin a guy he’s clearly rooting against into a “theoretical” win for himself. So I ignored to ignore the blatant trolling.

This post is a blatant personal attack and is a bit over the line I would say.

I couldn't handle AZ recalling the well-reasoned argument he articulated pre-draft when discussing Mayfield's performance, to which I responded "lolz watch the games," so I threw an online tantrum and continue debasing myself on the internet for no good reason.

If u knew what u know today before the draft would u take any of the other 4 over Baker?

Lamar--

Rosen--

Darnold--

Allen--
If we had a solid franchise, with a history of consistent winning, I’d consider Lamar. Still think I’d pull the trigger on Baker though.

I liked Lamar coming, people were insane saying he cant be a good QB in this league, but he really seems allot like Vick 2.0 for all the good and bad of that. He is electric with his feat but I am not sure he will ever have above average accuracy and right now he still has way below accuracy for a starting qb in the NFL. His footwork is much better this year so he is learning, but all things being equal, I take Baker from what I have seen. He is the only one that I think can be a top 5 QB.

Too bad this isn't Madden. I figure we could just keep Baker, but figure out a way to dump his shitty PFF\QBR stats on the Steelers and Ravens.

Yeah.

You've seen how the other QB's have looked against the Pats, yes?

I’ve seen how bad teams have looked against the Pats.

This was par for the course.

Baker wasn’t Darnold bad but his mediocre 80 rating doesn’t tell the whole story.

Imagine thinking that performance was impressive or left you feeling optimistic in any way.

Conpletely unacceptable performance.

Him and so many others, including the Head Coach.

He should've single-handedly been able to overcome the 12 penalties, the 4th and 16 situations, the lack of timeouts, and the head-scratching coaching decisions.

Poor leader, IMO. Unacceptable.
