Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
2023, fat, divorced, out of the NFL.

OK, maybe that's 2021

I could not care less if Baker gets blown by some groupie in a parking lot. All it should teach him is that if you're gonna screw around, do it with a pro. Hookers know they're not getting paid to be with you; they're getting paid to go away when their work is done.

I do care about him eating that large slice of humble pie that the league served him last year ... and getting back in shape, re-dedicating himself to his game, and showing up like a #1 pick this fall.

The only pie he should be eating is his wife’s. Keep him away from baked goods please. :chuckle:

Look I don't know how it is in the gay community, but classy sluts don't suck cock as well...if all you are looking for is sex, give me a dirty whore willing to swallow and lick you asshole afterwards vs the crappy hand job a classy slut will give you.

Not a problem for us.

The cheesecake factory is the gift that keeps on giving for RCF

Guys, uh....this is supposed to be a football thread. Can we move some of this to EAYOR? I mean, if one of the Admins knew what you guys were doing in here...

Oh, wait....

Hopefully you are at least half-joking, but for those looking for gallows humor, the fat/out of the league reminds me that a redditor went "there" with Jamarcus comparisons during the season:

I'm not going to go with Johnny jokes because as far as we know, Baker is not a domestic abuser or cokehead, and Haslam didn't consult a homeless guy...

I won’t comment on any of the social issues due to them being redundant. We’re going to have a better sense of his apparatchik to the game which will materialize on the field; you’ll see how he responded to some warranted criticism and we will see how hard he’s worked to counter the adjustments defenses made to him in 2019.

Entering year 3 is too early for me to close the book on him personally. At the very least I really want to see the work he’s done in conjunction with a head coach that has a tendency to put quarterbacks in a position to use their strengths on a consistent basis.

This is going to be pretty significant though; if he continues the decline or stagnates you need to start asking yourself about the direction in which you’re headed with that contract expiration looming and Srefanski deserves a say about whether he thinks Baker can succeed.

I say that because in Chicago Matt Nagy dove into an arranged marriage with Mitch Trubisky and there’s a decent chance Trubisky doesn’t take that leap and the coaching staff gets their contracts terminated because of it.

If Baker declines or stagnates from this year, I can guarantee with about 99% certainty we'll be drafting a QB next year. Teams just don't wait that long, and with a new staff in place, they aren't going to waste a couple years hitching themselves to a player from a past GM. I'd say Baker's got a year to prove himself here before the FO finds a replacement.
