Project your feelings on people much?!
Nick Foles won a superbowl. I'd take that all day.
Again, who the fuck are you going to replace Baker with? I'm waiting!
Run it back, have a better "plan B" than Keenum, and see what happens. Baker has proven to be a good QB when healthy. He isn't now. Bailing on him after one injured season is stupid.
See, I think the narrative needs to change to "maybe he wasn't ever
that good in the first place" rather than giving him the benefit of the doubt that this is one bad injured stretch..
Eliminating this year, here is where Baker ranks in QB stats for 2018-2020 (his three "healthy" seasons)
Overall (2018-2020)
EPA+CPOE: 26th
EPA: 24th
Success rate: 31st
CPOE: 29th (he was about even in completion percentage vs. completion percentage over expected)
Air yards: 5th
On 3rd and 4th Downs (2018-2020)
EPA+CPOE: 27th
EPA: 22nd
Success rate: 22nd
CPOE: 30th
Air yards: 10th
In 4th Quarter (2018-2020)
EPA+CPOE: 30th
EPA: 32nd
Success rate: 30th
CPOE: 31st
Air yards: 13th
Overall pt 2 (2018-2020)
Passer Rating: 89.46
QBR: 59.26
AV (approximate value): 35 AV
For context, the following QBR and Passer Rating from 2018-2020:
Brady: 95.6 RATING, 65.53 QBR, 41 AV
Dalton: 85 RATING, 51.76 QBR, 21 AV
Lamar: 99 RATING, 66.43 QBR, 51 AV
Cousins: 104 RATING, 61 QBR, 40 AV
Wentz: 89.36 RATING, 58.1 QBR, 26 AV
Carr: 98.7 RATING, 60.5 QBR, 36 AV
Goff: 92.53 RATING, 57.56 QBR, 40 AV
Big Ben: 95.3 RATING, 64.85 QBR, 24 AV* (only two years of data)
Russ: 107.4 RATING, 69.4 QBR, 46 AV
Looking at these, it's hard not to see the similarities in some but his pocket of QBs seems to be within the Goff/Wentz on the bottom end and Carr/Cousins on the top end which is right around where I think most people have him at...
The question exists: Is he really as good as some people think he is?
