The same avatar thing really threw me off there for a millisecond :chuckles:

Re: Belly to The Cardinals?? (rumor)

I can't really speculate much since I am not aware of what kind of player Luna is..

I hope we keep Belliard with the intent of re-signing him.. If not, trade him for some value befoe we let him walk for nothing..

Re: Belly to The Cardinals?? (rumor)

Rather get a prospect than a backup level player.

The problem dealing Belliard is it means we probably have to trade or sign a FA second baseman in the offseason. But then again we have to sign Belliard in the offseason as he will be a free agent.

That said trading him better bring back a player with value and potential.

Re: Belly to The Cardinals?? (rumor)

inglett looks good, why not let him play second next year???

Re: Belly to The Cardinals?? (rumor)

At this point I'd rather play Inglett full time at 2nd base.

Belliard is a free agent at the end of the season and we aren't likely to resign him anyway so I would trade Belliard at this point.

Re: Belly to The Cardinals?? (rumor)

Today and the other day Inglett showed that he may not be that great defensively and my guess he proves why he is a backup level guy if he gets enough ABs. His average comes down and fans will stop asking for him to be a full time player. We all love the underdog, the career minor leaguer finally gets his shot and exceeds expectations. But getting hot for a couple weeks and hitting well for 162 is what separates starters from utility guys. I hope Joe is more, but he seems to have utility written all over him.
