He's definitely not a goober. He's a smart and composed guy and he's not going to get scared out there. There's something to be said for having age and wisdom.
I actually think he's going to end up being a good player, the best the Browns have had since they got back. On one hand...that's nice. On the second hand...that ain't saying much.
Thing is...Heckert has yet to disappoint in a draft. You have no choice but to ride with the guy. And if he picked Weeden, chances are...Weeden is going to be a good starter within two years. Thing is...he NEEDS to be damn good and he needs to be starting fast.
I'm optimistic about the quality he can bring to the position. I'm just disappointed that no matter how good he is, he'll only be that good for a few years. Some QB's can most definitely play until they're 36-37 years old nowadays. But...a lot can't.
