I know there's already a thread on Joe Johnson, but he is not the only player on the Nets roster. They are blowing up this thing. There's not much in the cupboard there, but let your imagination run wild. Trade Mozgov for Brook Lopez? Seems kind of impossible without any draft picks to add as sweeteners though. Any chance the Nets will let go of an OK young player like Bojan Bogdanovic or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson? They need youth, but who knows....

Or we could trade for Jarret Ja.... I can't even say it. For real though is anyone on that team in the TPE range? I think Lopez might be very hard to get but I would take him if there was a way.

Wasn't Rondae Hollis-Jefferson the guy the Cavs wanted to draft, but were a pick to late?

If so, I could see the Cavs trying to get him.

Yes he was, Portland took him the pick before us...one of my favorite guys in the draft too...I would not mind finding a way to land him one bit...

If Brooklyn wants cap space, we have a couple trade exceptions to help them out.

Zach Lowe and Howard Beck were talking about a few trades the Nets should make on The Lowe Post podcast that just came out. Pretty interesting. One of them was to trade Lopez to Charlotte for Jefferson's expiring and a pick. The Nets need to replenish their draft picks, as they don't control any of their own picks until 2019. That is absolutely brutal. Another one was to Portland for Meyers Leonard and a pick or two. I'm not the biggest Lopez fan but his rim protection (not his defense) ain't half bad and I wondered if we've thought about if we could snag him.

Moz, Andy, and Shump is enough to get back Lopez and Bogdonavic. Question is, is it worth it? Our defense would take a serious hit, but our offense would improve (in theory).

Doubt they would trade Hollis-Jefferson in any scenario, he's the only guy they have anywhere near the "young talent" category.

The guy who intrigues me there is Thad Young. Good contract, good age. And actually fits the need for a stretch(y) combo forward. Not sure what the Cavs could offer, though I guess Mozgov might intrigue Prokhorov. They'd definitely want a pick, or several of them. Plus the Cavs don't really have up-and-coming youngsters to peddle, maybe save for Cunningham and the rights to Cedi Osman.

Also, Young doesn't quite fit into the Haywood TPE and it gets really tricky from there unless i'm misunderstanding some of the rules.

Worse, it would need to be two separate trades and they don't really have a contract that would match Mozgov's. So that means a combination of Bogdanovic and one of Larkin, Ellington, Karasev or Bargnani. But now we're at 3 players coming in, so that means at least two need to go out...

Anyway, just too difficult probably, unless a third team is involved. And why would anyone get involved in that, save for some sort of a Bogdanovic fetish.
