Browns in the playoffs? Let me count the obstacles

Can the Cleveland Browns make the playoffs this year? Maybe.

The belief is that the offense can score and that the defense will keep on making the plays to keep them in the game. However, I see the most difficult hurdle to be the least controllable: The Browns' schedule features both the NFC South and the AFC West this year. Coupled with one of the toughest divisions in football, this means that the Browns must defeat both the returning losers of the championship games and the Super Bowl champs of last year.

So in all likelihood, if the Browns are to make the playoffs this year they are going to have to do it with nine wins and by the skins of their noses.

On offense, Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow are going to have to .......

9 wins won't make the playoffs in the AFC.

It will if 5 of the 9 wins can against the AFC North!

Not a chance...we cant have 5 wins against the North, come on now...that's reaching.

The only way that can happen is if we sweep two teams and with our division that will not happen.

The only way I'd see it working is...

2 from the Ravens
2 from the Bengals
1 from the Steelers

Not happening Ruanu..maybe we can get Mac to start a thread to school you on football like PIP did with basketball?

I know its not happening. I was just stating to the guy above how the only way possible for 9-7 was to make the playoffs. I dont believe that we will win 5 in the division. I think we will split, 3-3.

Ok, CDT. If he wants to waste his time and got nothing better to do like u, then he can go ahead!

2-4...One against the Ravens, maybe one against the Bungles. Depending on how soon Palmer comes back.

I think we split it RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE with all 3. (1-1 againsts all)

The Bungles wont have Palmer in that first game we play against them, we got to win that game. So with that in mind how to you have them beating us without Palmer and us beating them with Palmer???

Palmer is on track to be back my training camp, I don't know how but thats what Clayton Mortenson Pasquarelli and everyone have been steadfast in saying.

We dont know that for sure and they could still run all over us with Rudi.

We dont have a prayer against Pitt unless they get some unforseen injuries, they will just maul us most likely. Shame that we got them on prime time.

The Ravens are iffy...they got McNair and they always needed just one good QB and they should be good and now they got that. Jamal had an off-season to work out so he should be back to his beastly self and that defense is still one of the best in the NFL. I find it hard to beleive that we can over take them. Maybe once...

Basically, bringing Charlie Frye to war in the division is like taking a knife to a gun fight.

I got us going

I have us going 8-8... But there are usually a couple of upsets. November 12th to December 24th will be a pretty hard stretch with the quality of teams that we face. Hopefully we can finish the season off strong... But I think this year will be a stepping stone for next year when we make the playoffs.
