BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm optimistic that Ogunjobi will be more effective with reduced snaps thanks to the added depth at defensive tackle.

If Woods can get him around 45-50% of the defensive snaps instead of the mid 70%, that should be helpful.
Wasn't he also injured last year?

Seems it's an excuse for nearly everyone, but I thought he hurt something early in the year, which would make sense why his interior pass rush wasn't as explosive as it was in 2018.

I’m pretty sure he had a partially torn bicep for a significant portion of the season; that would absolutely hinder anyone imo.

his torn bicep was 2018 not 19.

Don't forget the Browns switched from a very aggressive defensive coach to a very conservative defensive coach. Under Gregggg, the Browns would send heat on the quarterback in various all out blitzes. With Wilks, the Browns were usually in a zone cover 3 and sending four pass rushers. So, a one tech like Ogunjobi would take on blocks and push the pocket rather than trying to beat a one on one blocker. He still finished with just about the same totals for sacks, tackles for losses, and pressures in 15 games instead of 16.

One area where he might make a bigger impression on the game would be if Billings allows him to bounce over to three tech more often. The three tech has line schemes designed to attack the backfield, the one tech slams into linemen to make life easier on the ends and three tech.

Tess is, in my opinion, a very good PBP guy. But...he got the real kiss of death being paired with 2 of the worst analysts in MNF history.

Thank GOD. That MNF crew was pitiful. They belong doing weekday College games.

Tess belongs on BIG TIME college games. He was amazing in the CFB world because his energy matches the college atmosphere. Always seemed crazy that ESPN decided that get rid of that or that his style would translate.

Al Michaels was the ideal MNF voice and tone. They’ve just never found the right replacement ever since they traded him for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
