Given the chance, opportunity, Dilfer was able to bounce back from his slump and throw for 272 yards.
The key here to our slump was not just Dilfer. Our receiving core showed that today. Northcutt actually caught the ball and was true to his word that he'll do what's best for the team. And, another signature punt return ruined by a block in the back penalty.
Our O-line was solid today. Probably cuz Tennessee sucks, but it gives us hope and energy. And the biggest thing to come out of it? Toughman Reuben Droughns, The Ruthless Ruby. Rushing for 116 yards, recieving for 79 his season high by far. 195 total yards for those of you slow at math. Sadly no TD, and he really wanted it, but Wright stepped in valiantly. But damn, did he remind me of Brian Westbrook out there.
We took risks and got them. Especially that nasty double reverse to Northcutt with Dilfer reading the way. :chuckles: Great play.
Brownies lookin like a football team out there. Seriously. No, dude, really, I'm not joking this time. Defense was solid and didn't crack. Well, it cringed me in the waning moments, but hell, we pulled through it.
