How dion does and his attitude with the group will be interesting that's for sure.
I think what this overlooks is that Sefolosha started mostly for defensive reasons. He was the lockdown defender on OKC that they could put on the other team's best wing to keep Durant fresh. If you start Miller or Allen, you're basically putting all of the defensive pressure on LeBron, which will wear him down just like it did in Miami last year. Dion is actually a solid defender, has the potential to be a very good one, and can defend three positions. It makes more sense to start him in a line-up with a defensive liability like Kyrie than it does Miller or Allen, neither of whom can defend well at this point in their careers.
I want dion starting as well.
I responded to your other post by calling it nonsense Because you said kyrie was "star struck" about lebron coming back. Whereas dion was all hard and tuff.
The rule change is that the last two players waived before training camp ends have the right to skip the d-league draft and go straight to the team's affiliate. It has become common practice for teams to invite players to training camp that they want on their d-league affiliate in the last 3 years.Unless they changed the rules, they still count towards your 15 active roster spots. Them being in Canton is the alternative to them sitting in suits on the bench as 'inactive' each game. You have 15 roster spots and dress 12 per game.
Dion Waiters = Jason Terry
This is an interesting debate. When the Mavs took the title in 2011. Terry came off the bench, behind Deshawn Stevenson for a good part of the year, later JJ Barea started alongside Kidd.
Now the popular notion is that we run Miller into the ground by starting him. Not really, when you know Dion can get you 32 solid minutes a night. Deshawn only played the first 6 or so minutes of both halves setting the tone defensively early. Not saying you pigeonhole Miller to those 12 minutes a night, but its doable without running the guy into the ground. If Allen decides to play, then Dion can slide over to some PG minutes as well.
I think you just have to get everyone on the team, to think team first and it's basketball.

While that may be true, if those individuals have guaranteed NBA rookie contracts, couldn't another team just take them? For example, if we cut Harris in camp, wouldn't he then be subject to waivers and then become a free agent if he clears?
Isn't this example more suited to those invitees to training camp without a contract or those on non-guaranteed NBA minimum salary?
That scenario is different from the practice of sending first and second year players from your 15 man roster to play in the D-League rather than rack up DNP's while wearing a suit.
