Tom Withers Recap Of Game One
CLEVELAND (AP) LeBron James didn't complain about them at the time, but those hard shoves, well-placed elbows and rougher-than-normal fouls that the Washington Wizards inflicted upon him in Game 1 had an effect.
One day later, James wasn't sore. But the 6-foot-8, 250-pounder said he was a lot shorter and lighter.
"I'm about 6-4, 215 today,'' he joked.
James endured a physical pounding in Cleveland's 93-86 win in the series opener, an intense game that at times resembled a rugged version of two-handed backyard touch football. Beginning with a shot across the face from Andray Blatche - a blow he later retaliated by throwing an elbow into the forward's chin - James was a marked man.
The Wizards hacked and whacked him.
The NBA's scoring champion still managed to score 32 points, and made the game's two biggest baskets in the final 1:37 as the Cavaliers won their seventh straight postseason game over the Wizards, their first-round opponent three years running.
James expected the Wizards to come after him, and he knows they're not about to stop.
"I have no problem getting hit,'' said James, who went to the free-throw line 14 times. "But there's a difference between a foul and a LeBron foul. If that's what their game plan is, I have to be able to get back up and continue to let my game speak for itself.''

<hr>*Game Notes*
· The Cavaliers have won seven straight games against the Wizards in the playoffs. With a win tonight, Cleveland’s win streak over the Wizards would move to eight straight games which would tie for the sixth-longest streak in post season history and the longest since 1997. Cleveland would match the Lakers who won eight straight games over the Suns from 1984-1989. The all-time record is 12 straight wins by the Lakers over the Sonics from 1980-89.
· The Cavaliers are a perfect 6-0 in series in which they win the opening game.
· In Game 1, Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had a career playoff-high four assists for his ninth career post season double-double. It also marked his fifth career playoff game with 20 or more points. Over his last five playoff games against the Wizards, Ilgauskas has averaged 19.6 points on .552 (37-67) shooting and 11.0 rebounds per game.
· Delonte West scored a career playoff-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals in 36 minutes in Game 1. The last player to put up at least those numbers in a playoff game in less than 37 minutes was Ron Artest on April 30, 2002.
· In 34 career playoff games, LeBron James has averaged 27.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. No other player in NBA playoff history (min. 20 games) has ever averaged over 25.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. He has now scored 30 or more points in 15 career playoff games.
· Cleveland has gone 12-5 in their last 17 playoff games at The Q dating back to the start of the 2006 Playoffs. The Cavaliers are 5-1 at home against the Wizards during that stretch.
