I need some information....Will Booby play tonight?
Not sure, but I hope so.. ray:I need some information....Will Booby play tonight?
The bench is considered weak because Scott refuses to use it. Last night, 3 starters played 40+ minutes, and a 4th played 35...and that was on the first game of a road-road back-to-back. The only reason Bonzi and Wright played over 20 minutes last night was because Mo Pete got injured.
So, when I say "weak" I am only stating this because the appearance is such. I don't know how Byron Scott even knows what he has in his bench...he never plays them. 4 starters are averaging 34.5 minutes per game, and no bench player plays more than 19 mpg...that indicates that Scott either has no confidence in his bench, or lacks the knowledge of how to use them.
The Hornets are obviously a very good team, or they wouldn't be tops in the West. But Scott's reliance on his starters is going to be his downfall come playoff time...and in this game. He pushed them way too hard in Indianapolis, and there is no way Julian Wright, Jannero Pargo, and Bonzi Wells are going to make up for 4 guys playing at least 35 minutes the night before, and possibly taking the place of the 5th starter, who is questionable with an injury, against a team that plays physical defense, especially at home, where they've limited their last 9 opponents to 85.5 ppg and 42% shooting (the last 2 opponents to 39% shooting). The Cavs have been buzzsawed by back-to-backs many times this season, and guys playing that many minutes run out of gas by the 2nd half...even supermen like LeBron.
So, I will stand by my 98-94 Cavs victory prediction.
Oh yea I forgot to mention. With Big Ben out I can just Tyson Chandler and David West having their way in the paint.
Oh yea and we're 5th in the league in defense. And the Hornets are in a better (and much higher scoring) conference than the Cavs.
Gibson, sidelined since Feb. 20 with a sprained left ankle, resumed full practice on Tuesday. He said there was some soreness in the ankle, but he expects to play Saturday.
