At least he came through for us in game 6 and game 7 in the finals what has cedi done lol
Yeah, he hit a couple 3s in the 3rd quarter of game 7 that really helped.

But I remember him shooting unconsciously against the Hawks and Kyle Korver guarding him well and him hitting turn around 3 pointers.

Cedi is the kind of player who excels when he has a straightforward role and just needs to do those things.

IMO his ideal role is an off the ball "motor" guy who thrives in chaos. He's like a dirt poor man's Ginobili in that he brings an element of unpredictability that you often need to keep things moving.

You don't want to limit him too much, but I never want to see him in a playmaking role in half court situations.

I do remember a few Ginobili comps on this board in his rookie year...

He's been, essentially, the worst player on the team since the beginning of February. Only guy in the conversation with him is Rondo, but that's more excusable considering he's new and has dealt with a lot of injuries (still pretty sure Rondo is bad).

His on/off numbers are BRUTAL in the last two months. No other rotation player is even close, even during this bad stretch.

He is one of those players you love and hate at the same time. He has adorable little broken English moments in interviews and can get super hot on in a quarter and then be completely unplayable for the next month

Bickerstaff and Osman have had numerous conversations throughout the season. A few of them happened recently. Bickerstaff told Osman that he didn’t care about playmaking, shooting, driving or scoring. Bickerstaff just demanded Osman play hard and smart while competing with a sense of urgency required during a playoff push. When Osman does that, not trying to do too much, the Cavs feel he can make a positive impact, similar to last weekend’s home win over Detroit. That night, Osman provided a bench spark following a two-game benching.

His play has been erratic since -- and he was yanked after six uninspiring minutes during Saturday’s loss against Chicago. - Chris Fedor

Sounds like JBB thinks Cedi was trying to do too much; playmaking, shooting, and scoring. JBB just wants him to play hard and smart within the offense. And he apparently isn't seeing the "sense of urgency required during a playoff push".

“Numerous conversations”. Bet cedi is gone off season

It kind of feels like Cedi’s time in Cleveland is drawing to a close. Just 1 more guaranteed year left on his contract. Windler and Stevens getting more time over him. I suspect he will be asking for a new home this off season. Probably best for both parties.

My best friend loves him because he's the worst player on the team

What does that even mean?

“I don’t care about playmaking shooting driving or scoring just play hard”

That sounds like what a middle school coach would say

He was great as a Korver type. Handling the ball in the half court should be verboten.

To be fair to Cedi though, I have never seen a guy get fouled so much at the rim without a call. Collin was like that his rookie year with no love from the refs, but Cedi has had this issue his whole career. No calls at the rim.

I think JBBs point is that he's simply not doing any of the hustle stuff.

ANd he's not a good enough offensive player to warrant 20+ minutes a night if he's not gonna do the hustle stuff.

I really don't understand the poor defense from him. He has good mobility and size. He looks big, but doesn't seem strong, is fast, but can't stay in front of guys. He was known as a defender and hustle guy, but in the NBA he is like only a scorer. I don't really get it. He is enigmatic. I can't remember any player so hot and cold where he goes from looking like a star to a bum every quarter.
